Mao Zedong singlehandedly mass murdered the entire Chinese population, brought them all back to life, and then gave them higher life expectancies just to hide his crimes. A deeply evil man.

What is the mood of the population in Venezuela?
What is the context in which Delcy Rodriguez’s government has made concessions to the US?
How do the people view these actions?
Where is Venezuela’s communal movement in this unfolding situation?
How can the rest of the world provide solidarity?
In this video, Cira Pascual Marquina presents her view on these and other questions.

Interesting contribution by @JohnRoss43, during discussion with Michael Hudson, on the nature of the intense economic competition between China and the US, and its probable outcome.
"Different Wiring: Debt, Property and Power in China and the West." My video discussion with Michael Hudson on why China will defeat the U.S. in economic competition. In the final analysis this is because China is socialist and the U.S. capitalist but this discussion breaks that down into the mechanics of economic competition youtube.com/watch?v=Jx5G9sLQ…

There are organisations specifically supporting socialist China in a number of countries.
But to defend China and other countries from U.S. aggression it is also vital to form organisations that bring together all those who oppose such aggression for whatever reason, and whatever their view of China or those other countries under attack.
This is a role No Cold War seeks to play.
In a speech to the Friends of Socialist China conference John Ross outlines these issues.

To us Chinese, Mao Zedong is our hero.
Mao uplifted farmers and the working class in China, united the Chinese people, led us to defeat foreign invaders, and founded an independent country so we could all live with dignity.
Mao supported the heroic struggle of the African people against imperialism and colonialism.
He was one of the greatest leaders in world history, and one of the most demonized by the West.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Mao Zedong is under any single social metric a dictator. Not a single popular election, single government party and lifetime leadership. Not even taking into account the millions of deaths under his reign.

Mao supported African peoples' struggles for independence, including Algeria, the country Mbappé’s family came from. With his deeply inappropriate remarks, Mbappé has lost the trust of Chinese fans. International brands such as Dior, On and Hublot have also removed Mbappé-related content from Sina Weibo. Global superstars who profit from China should understand its cultural sensitivities and show basic respect.

This is a 30 minute TV programme Shenzhen TV did on my visit there and analysis of its development in the context of China's economy. The commentary is in Chinese but the interview parts are in English and I think the video recordings of robots, advanced Chinese car production at the BYD headquarters, and others, speak for themselves, and convey an accurate impression of modern China, simply as moving images even if the commentary is not understood. sztv.com.cn/ysz/dsdb/szws/js…

Inspiring leadership from the LFI at the weekend resisting all attempts to derail the mass movement and ensuring its advance.

In 1945, Georgia executed Lena Baker, a 44-year-old Black mother of three, after a trial that lasted only a few hours. Baker had worked as a domestic worker and was caring for Ernest Knight, a white mill owner who had reportedly confined and abused her. On April 30, 1944, during a struggle over a pistol at the mill, Knight was shot and killed. Baker immediately went to the local coroner and told him what had happened, insisting that she had acted in self-defense. She was nevertheless convicted of capital murder by an all-white jury and sentenced to death. Her own final statement maintained that she acted because she believed she would be killed.
Lena Baker was executed in Georgia's electric chair on March 5, 1945. For decades, her story received little public attention, and she was buried without a proper grave marker. Her family eventually fought to have the case reconsidered, and in 2005, sixty years after her execution, Georgia granted her a posthumous pardon. The state did not declare her innocent, but its Board of Pardons and Paroles acknowledged that denying her clemency had been a “grievous error” and that the case called for mercy. Today, Baker's name is remembered as part of the history of racial injustice, unequal justice and the Black women whose lives were often given little protection under Jim Crow.
