Our recent paper in @CliniTransplant compares isolated 🫁 transplantation to simultaneous 🫁-liver and 🫁-kidney. We found:
- lower 1-year survival, but similar 3-year and median survival
- incidence of 🫁-kidney and 🫁-liver both increased at a faster rate than 🫁 tx
Given inferior short-term outcomes, multiorgan recipients require more sensitive patient selection to ensure equitable access to abdominal allografts.
