If you are having trouble trying to wrap your head around what happened in Texas and Nevada last night, let me help explain it for you.
In 2024 alone, roughly 77,000 people moved from California to Texas. That same year, about 53,000 moved from California to Nevada.
Those two states just delivered some of the biggest Democratic wins of the night.
James Talarico flipped the U.S. Senate seat and became the first Democrat to win a Texas Senate race since 1988
Gina Hinojosa defeated Greg Abbott and became the first Democratic governor of Texas in decades
Aaron Ford defeated incumbent Republican Joe Lombardo and flipped the governor’s office.

i recently watched an interview with a white american man who said he wouldn’t vote republican in the past election because republicans oppose undocumented immigration. his reason? he relies on undocumented migrants for cheap labour because he pays them less than he would have to pay legal workers.
think about that for a second. some people aren’t advocating for undocumented migrants because they genuinely care about their welfare; they’re advocating for them because they benefit from their vulnerable position. that’s the kind of political and economic exploitation people need to recognise.

Even if I wouldn't have/ didn't vote for them I find it pretty hypocritical that ya'll claim to support women and black ppl, but we got 2 of the first black governors in their respective states and the first female gov of TN, and its crickets cause they're Republican.
