Having a backup processor is great.
Having one that has never processed a payment before Black Friday? Less great.
Peak season is not the moment to discover that your fallback setup doesn’t behave the way you expected.
Before volume spikes, test the full flow:
→ Make sure your backup is correctly configured
→ Run real payment tests
→ Check what happens when the primary path fails
→ Confirm that eligible transactions can actually be routed where they should
