Weekend hack: HackerTube. I was annoyed with YouTube's recommendations so I had Claude filter down 43M comments over 20 years of HN to 6,454 videos that keep being recommended. *Significantly* better viewing experience, ~2 hours with Opus 5.5: hackertube.org/ - Excellent recs without any logins (state is kept in local browser session) - Thumbnail is a representative frame from middle of the video instead of the super duper A/B test hyper-optimized user uploads - Underlying data from the comment analysis as one zip file, point your Claude at it and ask for your own version - HackerTube Longs ✊ A bit more on the process: I use Claude Code (desktop app for Mac), Opus 5.5 on Medium effort as my default. I only talk to Claude and have it do everything, the only "manual work" I helped with in tandem was in the browser (reminiscent of MenuGen): 1) I had to create some kind of API key from Google Cloud UI to query YouTube for video metadata, 2) I booted up a VPS box for serving and 3) I bought the domain name. Once the box was up I gave Claude the IP and told it update, secure, harden, deploy and optimize the code, and it did the whole thing. Many awesome projects that would have normally taken weeks/months even can now be few-shotted for breakfast. What else are we not thinking of.

the middle gets squeezed the front end (apps like this, claude duet) own the customer relationship. there's a moat the backend (xAI's compute resources they're leasing to anthropic) is the infrastructure. there's a moat middle layers like wrappers, routers without a great UX and increasingly LLMs feeling pressure own the customer relationship or the infra
As a builder in the AI video space, I was terrified about how much markup API providers charge for simply routing the models. Higgsfield API adds a 40% markup even with its maximum advertised discount. Fal adds 100%. Runway adds 414% (Seedance 2 480p) I might be hated by the industry, but :
Today, we’re launching Sume API, the first image & video model provider with 0% markup. For example with Seedance 2.5 1080p • 50% cheaper than fal • 50% cheaper than higgsfield api (29% even with biggest discount) • 28.02% cheaper than kie ai The routing infrastructure layer is never the moat. We believe that APIs should be commoditized, and the moats will be built at the application layer. Check the pricing comparisons below, and see how the broken industry is saved.

AI music will first compete with music genres with heavy vocal processing suno.com/song/0f13113a-2e21-… vs youtube.com/watch?v=Qw0bebAz…
AI generated music is 1000x better than real music. Today I canceled Spotify and SiriusXM because I finally tested Suno. What sold me was the first prompt I gave it: “My favorite artists are A Day to Remember, Bring Me The Horizon, Spiritbox, Bad Omens, and Sleep Token. Analyze all their hits and generate a song I’m likely to love based on those artists.” It one shots an absolute banger in 10 seconds. I'll link the song in the next tweet for anyone curious. Why would I ever go back to Spotify/SiriusXM when I can generate music perfectly tailored to my taste on command, for free? Not affiliated with Suno in any way btw, it was just one of those moments where I was so impressed with AI’s capability I had to say something about it.

venice ai VVV: private means unlinked, not unread to run inference, a machine has to decrypt what you sent. a model can't do math on ciphertext. so the question with venice is who owns the machine doing the decrypting.
Kimi K3 makes AI sovereignty an absolute no-brainer. if your company is still relying entirely on closed models, i honestly don’t know what to tell you at this point this is what you’re signing up for: > model quality that fluctuates without warning (reducing reliability) > outages that suddenly stop your entire team from working > your entire AI stack being tied to one provider’s infrastructure, pricing, and policies > continuous privacy failures and data leaks (just last week, Claude share links containing sensitive info showed up in Google Search) meanwhile, open-weight AI now gives you: > the same frontier-level intelligence > for cheaper > with zero data retention through Venice > and basically the same everyday workflows as Codex and Claude Code > all without locking your company into one closed provider here’s exactly how I’d replace Claude Code and Codex across an entire company: 🧵
