Players are always doing maintenance drills and feels to avoid their tendencies and keep their swing towards their most functional. It’s a work in progress for everyone, like a painting that never gets finished. We saw Rory adding a waggle and folding his trail arm. Here’s Tommy trying to reduce Sidebend and stay “taller” through it. His bad swing he loses height and goes into excessive upper body Sidebend which can make the hands active through it. People commenting on Rory’s swing yesterday saying he swung it better when younger. Here’s my take on that from a video I made a few months ago. His “new waggle” and feel is trying to get back towards where he used to be basically.
60 for Rory today! Did you notice the little “waggle” he’s introduced to encourage his trail arm to fold? He’s been working on folding his trail arm so it goes less behind him at the top and gets less stuck coming down. Certainly working! Even the best tinker, what you doing for your swing? 🤷♂️👌🏼 (source vid @dpworldtour )
A very overlooked part of transferring your game from the range to the course is your pre-shot and over-the-ball routine. Most players are like clockwork with some little quirks you might not see, as with Adam here. Work on and hone your routine doing randomised practice, it’ll really help skill transfer and scoring 👌🏼💪🏼 (vid @ProSwings)
Live lesson: This guy has struggled with the club getting stuck behind him and overly shallow for years. He’s been to many coaches to fix it, with no tangible improvement. A little understanding of how the lead side forces influence the club created a much nicer look and get him steeper and less stuck. Little practice on it and he will own it.

Nice to see Shane having a run at his home open. Real craftsman of a player. Let’s walk through his action 👍💪🏼👌🏼
How does John Rahm hit it so far with a “short swing” people ask 🤷♂️It’s a study in biomechanics basically……(source vid @DPWorldTour)
One thing I love as much as golf, cars. Especially Porsche. Fortunate to have a couple. But bumped into my mate at the coffee shop who took me for an impromptu spin in his ST. Special edition 1/1963 and has Heritage package. Beautiful car. Great start to the day 👌🏼👍🔥
My friend, former assistant at IMG and @alpinecountryclub1928 member Nick Lassman perished in the 9/11 tragedy. A fitting tribute to him at Alpine and my thoughts and prayers with him and his family on such a difficult day for them. 😔#rip
One of the overlooked things that many amateurs miss out is how to “maintain” your swing. Once you know your tendencies, you should have a tool box of feels and drills you do regularly to keep your swing in good shape. Most days I do ultra-slow, overdone swings to really dig into my feels and key thoughts. Don’t just smash balls, have a plan 👍💪🏼👌🏼
