It's that time when people suggest their own stuff as gifts, but this is doubly awkward for me as my last book ('A classic outsider's journey'- @mrneilforsyth; 'Smart & funny'- @JillTwiss) is now out of print after a collision between the publisher and the UK economy. BUT (1/3)

> EVEN BETTER, pretty well everyone has a difficult-to-buy-for movie executive friend, and the FILM/TV ADAPTATION RIGHTS are STILL AVAILABLE from my agent at vivlovesfilm.com - what better, more unique gift could there be?!? Thank you! (END)

Kurt would have loved Temu. 47 items in my last basket, less than a fiver.

Back in 2007 I wrote a thing urging for Charlie Chaplin films to be shown in A&E. I'd upload it to the NHS consultation but I suspect they'd think it was another timewaster, rather than a variant of the @rorysutherland 'mirrors beside the elevator' thing. privatesecretdiary.com/2007/…

Apparently the promoter originally scheduled it for the 8th October but Bob wasn’t too keen…

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'm not sure if the shame alternates or if it's still me.

So another year of county youth pathway cricket over for the kids, 100's of miles driven, tears, laughter etc & I was going to do a long thread about lessons/observations etc. but I don't have time so I'll just post the most important, which is never get your hair cut in Taunton.

Spot on for me. I'd add that it's been great for the women's game, and keeps halfwit DJs off the streets.
I genuinely have a complicated relationship with the 💯. It’s probably worth an article at some point. I see the financial benefit, hate the concept, love that my kids love it, hate the enforced fun, enjoy the cricket, see the value in the county disconnect, loathe the graphics.

This.
I think it does need to be emphasized that the numbers at these "demonstrations" are incredibly small - a Palestine solidarity organizer would delete their account in shame. You can't claim that a "protest" represents the legitimate views of a section of society if there's only >

I know there are bigger things happening in the world, but I just sold my bowls and it feels like the end of an era.

Very delightful setting. Not a bad way to spend a day off.
The @FostersSol Norfolk U18 Girls gave made a long trip to Blankney CC to play Lincolnshire U18s in the ECB 50 over League. Norfolk have won the toss and are bowling g. Evie Booker taking a wicket in the 1st over.

Nope - aged very badly
We'll see if this one ages well, and my recent Grand National record has been essentially 'gives up before the first fence', but Ladbrokes offering 100-1 on LibDems here in NW Norfolk which is insane, given local circumstances. Have put a tenner on.
