Unfortunately MSU doesn’t have unlimited control rooms….Volleyball was scheduled at the exact same time, and because it was a Big Ten conference match, it took priority. MSU has three control rooms, but a full production for both hockey and volleyball requires two each, one for TV and another for the scoreboard. With volleyball using two for the TV broadcast and arena scoreboard, hockey was left with one and had to run off the scoreboard production. We are lucky the game even got streamed at all as most schools only have two control rooms, meaning they likely wouldn’t have broadcasted the hockey game. Ultimately, it came down to scheduling, and the volleyball team being really good that kept the usual hockey’s production standard from being possible.
