📣 (2/2): #OlderAdults face the dire consequences of #Ageism every day when they’re rejected for jobs and their needs go unmet. We call on all Americans to reject this last acceptable form of discrimination.
Very proud to work with my @NCOAging, @theUSAging, and @ACLgov colleagues on this vital work. #Vaccines safe lives!

Congratulations to @Ramsey_Alwin for being recognized by @NextAvenue as a leader in #aging! Very well deserved!
It’s an honor to be recognized by @PBS @nextavenue given the luminaries featured over the years. I deeply believe aging well shouldn't be a stroke of luck. It shouldn't be for the limited few. It should be a right. A human right. #EquityPromise #WeAgeWell nextavenue.org/a-champion-of…
Please to join today’s Longevity Innovation Summit and present on behalf of @NCOAging!
Two days left! Medicare Open Enrollment ends on 12/7. If you haven't looked at your options, now is the time!

And so it begins!
#Medicare #OpenEnrollment begins today!
Who should look at their coverage?
Everyone on Medicare. Your coverage and healthcare needs change as do the plans.
Where do you begin?
Here’s a good starting place: ncoa.org/article/a-complete-…
#Medicare #OpenEnrollment starts today!
Plenty of time for #OlderAdults to get more information now before making a choice. Just don’t procrastinate too long—12/7 will be here soon.
While it is great to see that #SocialSecurity is increasing by 8.7%, this is not going to fully cover the costs for older adults. And we know that #seniors are the only group that saw increased poverty in 2021.
There is more work to do.
Older adults on #SocialSecurity will get a much-awaited #CostofLiving increase of 8.7% next year. But is it enough?
Find out why this adjustment is insufficient for older Americans in this statement from NCOA's President and CEO @Ramsey_Alwin.

The elderindex.org is a great tool to show the real impact of the true cost of #aging across the country! The impact of inflation and increases of #SocialSecurity are not equal everywhere.
"A Social Security check goes farther in some regions than in others. The Elder Index shows that the average benefit covers 90% of living costs in rural WV but just 38% in San Francisco." Thanks @nytimes for shout-out on the Index. @CSDRA_UMB @UMassBoston

There is a ton of great information on #seniors and the #agingnetwork in @ACLgov's new report on the #OlderAmericansAct programs. It really shows the work that has been done and the work that remains!

The bottom line: the growth of the population is greatly outpacing the dollars and workforce. We need to increase the funding for these vital programs and focus on supporting those who work for and with older adults every day.
