Martin O’Neill on last night’s team selection and substitutes: “It was designed to do exactly what it did.
“We have been playing Sunday, Thursday, Sunday, Thursday, Wednesday, whatever day it happens to be.
“We have played, I don't know what, nine games in 23 days or 24 days.
“Some players needed a little breather and you can get re-energised from coming on the field.
“So I'm going to say that this was exactly our plan.
“And those players who came on were going to come on at some stage or another in the game.”
Martin O’Neill usually heads up the tunnel after games but last night was different. He went on to the pitch post-match, embracing several of his players before their walk round. Felt like a big win for the #Celtic manager, whose reaction at FT said a lot.

On Guy Fawkes night, #Celtic finally provide some European fireworks. Callum Osmand and Camilo Duran both crucial after coming on. Torreense away next in the UEL for Martin O'Neill's side, who really needed that victory.

Camilo Duran as quick as lightning to round Alex Nubel and put #Celtic ahead 2-1. Martin O'Neill's subs have worked well so far, with Callum Osmand turning provider there after his equaliser.
Callum McGregor latches on to a loose midfield ball and cuts back for Callum Osmand, who scores with one of his first touches since coming on as a substitute. #Celtic are level!
A series of errors from Johnstone and Lotomba result in a Besiktas penalty, which the goalkeeper initially saves, before the rebound is bundled in by Olaitan. #Celtic one behind at the start of the second half.
HT 0-0. #Celtic content to sit in and frustrate Besiktas at times. They've defended fairly well so far but provided next to no attacking threat, failing to play through the lines and having to go long. Tounekti has struggled in particular.
Oh Hyeon-gyu starts for Besiktas against #Celtic this evening.
A fair few surprises from Martin O’Neill tonight. Jordan Lotomba makes his first #Celtic start at right-back. No Camilo Duran as Seb Tounekti and James Forrest return to the frontline, alongside Kasper Hogh.
#Celtic’s 2026 AGM will take place at Celtic Park on Tuesday, December 1.

Martin O'Neill: "That was wildly important for me to go up to that game [in Dingwall], really. Because there are two things to it.
"Young boys want to see the manager there. And I do go. I went to a lot of the B team games last year as well down at Barrowfield.
"I feel that that's my job at the end of the day.
"And while I might not be around, seriously, to see the likes of Liam Kennedy or people like this mature and become [first-team players], you would take at least half an ounce of satisfaction that you saw them and that you were at least saying something to them that might help them."

Oh Hyeon-gyu discusses his love for #Celtic and time in Glasgow ahead of tomorrow night: "I came here as a young boy with a dream.
"It was sometimes hard for me, sometimes good for me. I have got good memories here. I always be grateful for everything and the fans.
"If I score, maybe I will cry.
"I learned a lot about my position from Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah.
"It was a hard time for me because I didn't play a lot, sometimes I played, sometimes I did not.
"In my last season here, I didn't play for the last six months so it was a hard time for me. But I'm very happy to be back here because I love Celtic so much. It has a special place in my heart."

🗣️ Colby Donovan: "I know what it's like to look in from a fan's perspective. It's not great, you want your club to win every game.
"When we can't deliver for them, it's not going to be all happy.
"The fans are going to be upset, but it's just trying to get that message across to them that we need them.
"You know in this club, it's nothing without the fans, so we need them on our side in every game.
"That's the message I just try to give to them."
