Thai Army Restricts Border Trade After Myanmar Fighting Spills Into Thailand Thailand’s Naresuan Force has suspended exemptions allowing imports and exports through routes outside officially authorized crossings in Tak province. The order runs from October 30 to November 5, or until the situation eases. The order cites fighting between Myanmar troops and ethnic armed groups and resistance forces near Myawaddy from October 25–29. Rounds crossed into Ban Huai Mahawong in Mae Sot district, threatening residents and property. On October 29, a 55-year-old woman was wounded by shrapnel while sheltering at home and taken to Mae Sot Hospital. Homes and vehicles were damaged, residents sought shelter, and Thai troops fired warning shots. The restrictions cover routes south of the First Thai–Myanmar Friendship Bridge in Mae Sot and in Phop Phra district.
