This isn’t hate. Hear me out. It’s a different question. Let’s be honest. What does COMPLETE mean? Ronaldo’s finishing is ridiculous. Both feet. Headers. Free kicks. Long shots. Tap ins. Bicycle kicks. His aerial game is a real advantage over Messi. No one needs to deny that. But being able to score in every way does not prove you can do every part of football at an elite level. A goal list tells you how attacks end. It does not tell you who creates the chance, beats the press, carries the ball, finds the pass, or makes the whole team better. And this argument keeps changing what “complete” means. First it means scoring with different body parts. Then it means winning in different leagues. Then it means trophies, longevity and total goals. Those are all impressive. They are not the same thing. Did Xavi or Iniesta feed Messi at the World Cup? No. They were his Barcelona teammates. Credit to him. But per appearance, Messi’s goal rate is slightly higher, and so is his goals and assists rate. That does not settle who is better. It does show why totals without games played are not the whole argument. Top scorer in England, Spain and Italy? Historic. That proves Ronaldo could be an elite scorer in different leagues. It does not prove he could thrive in literally any system. Did he do exactly well in his second season back at United? Not in the Premier League. His first season back was 24 goals in 38 appearances. In the next, he scored one league goal in 10 appearances, playing 520 minutes, before leaving in November. That is not a full season, so it is not a verdict on his career. But it is not proof that every system worked for him either. And the “no academy” line needs context. Ronaldo joined Sporting’s youth academy as a boy. The journey from Madeira is still incredible. It just was not a no academy journey. So here is the honest truth Ronaldo is one of the greatest scorers football has ever seen. His goal variety is extraordinary. His career is historic. But “most complete player in history” is not a fact just because you listed every way he can score. That is an argument for one of the most complete finishers ever.
