The tide is high and itโ€™s worrying to me. Watching the news stories and it itโ€™s crazy. Coastal communities are dealing with the new normal of creeping sea level rise. Itโ€™s changing everything, and it means certain things need to change. All boats need to rise with the tide.

One of the most important things a city and state can and must do is regulate and control energy and water costs. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power has completely failed in this mandate. @LADWP are not focused on controlling costs, they are trying to increase revenue.

Los Angeles could be largely powered by free solar power. Rates could be a quarter of what they are today. The only reason they are not is because LADWP has been trying to keep costs and revenue up, because they use that money for other thingsโ€ฆ we need to fix this.

LA could capture most or maybe all the water it needs from the rain, just like it could power itself largely by solar panels. But this is prevented by mismanagement and corruption. This must change.
