If I were to guess: Devils knew they were in the Hellebuyck sweepstakes. They also knew the price to pay would be a goaltender coming back to Winnipeg.
They didn’t know how soon he might be ready and wanted to have an option available immediately.
And they even got a pick now.
Rooting for Remi.
He is 25-years old and waiting for his chance in the big league.
10/10 asset management by the Devils.
I like GMs who are not afraid of thinking/doing stuff differently.
We’ll see what happens in DC.

#NEWS: We've acquired a 2027 seventh-round pick from the Washington Capitals for goaltender Remi Poirier.
Sometimes it feels like being good at defence as a D-man is a lost art.

Word.
Abdul El-Sayed: “We are being actively bullied by the dumbest people in the room. Donald Trump is an idiot. He has one genius which is getting attention. Because his dad never gave him enough, because he was a nepo baby, he craved attention and used the bullying tactics to get it. But the man is an idiot. Just a fool”
I know Stars fans want Remi Poirier back with the AHL team, but this is exactly what I've been begging NHL teams to do with three goalie rotation in place.
Get your indisputed starter an ability to have an off day when he is not playing anyways.

After activating Connor Hellebuyck, Devils currently have $120,594 of available cap space, while carrying 12 forwards only.
They are essentially a minor forward injury from having to recall a replacement and send Poirier back on waivers due to cap.

Former #txstars G Remi Poirier gave an exclusive interview to @NickKingman_ this morning.
"It's been hard to be part of stuff [in New Jersey]."

We are getting closer and closer to Remi Poirier being sent back to waivers, IMO.

According to St.Louis Blues, this report by @UN is anti-semitic.

Pretty please, Jeff... be correct, at last.
We just need to keep Dallas' secret agent Rick Bowness at Columbus long enough, so Werenski has had enough.
Harley is Top 20-25 NHL defender. Werenski is Top 3.
There is no debate who wins that trade.

Jeff Marek: Re Blue Jackets: Zach Werenski Watch continues to be on; I don't think that the Dallas deal is done, I think right now it's on pause, that's the way it feels
David Pagnotta: Yeah, it does

NHLRR: This summer the Blue Jackets were on the verge of moving Zach Werenski to Dallas in a package that included Thomas Harley; Werenski vetoed the deal; he has thus far not committed to extending in Columbus
Really interesting and digestible explanation of recent Dallas changes in neutral zone.
If the identity will become more of a defensive minded team again, I’m not totally opposed to it.

⭐️ The Dallas Stars switched their NZ system from 1-1-2 to a 1-1-3.... What is it, and is it working?!

ps thanks to @DailyFaceoff for the jerseys!
I can't be the only one noticing Stars finding their offensive game when neither Oskar Bäck, Radek Faksa and Sam Steel are playing.

I remember getting some flack suggesting young Dylan Hryckowian should get some action soon.
It’ll be his third game in three nights so I’d expect single digit TOI but still happy to see him up there.

If this lineup is any indication on who will Dallas call up soon it would be Matthew Seminoff and Ayrton Martino?
