I believe it's really good for a creator to focus on creating things that they'd like to exist more than what they believe other people want or would make more money.
But a complete lack of curiosity in the interests of broader audiences leaves your own taste underdeveloped.

You must believe you are special - then go so hard, for so long, with such violent refusal to accept any other ending, that reality itself starts running out of ways to tell you no. Wage a daily war against the ordinary outcome until the belief you invented from nothing, alone in a room, has been hammered into the world so many times that it stops being a claim and becomes reality.

I think modern Sonics push to edm is fine and this track is pretty good, but I do wish with a new *Shadow* game we would step back into the kinda industrials kinda grungish style back from SA2, Shadow the Hedgehog, and even the team dark theme from Heroes.
