How come offensive players can intentionally lower their heads into other players heads, but if a defensive player does it on accident it is a penalty and can even get them ejected?
My slide take. What needs to happen is we need to have the QB give a signal and the ball is dead right where there are at if they want to give themselves up. No more them being put in a bad position for a head injury. That's really the only answer if we want to also protect them.
