Excerpt: “Kim Dokja… Yes, he was my student back in the day. It’s a tragedy, of course. An unbelievable tragedy, what happened to him and his mother. Who could have anticipated such an outcome? I will admit, Dokja was a bit of a strange child. Very quiet and mature for his age, but prone to bouts of daydreaming in class. More than anything, he liked to read. I suppose that should come as no surprise with that name of his? However, me and some other faculty members were worrying about him, particularly during recess. Dokja had this bad habit of finding… places to hide. Small and cramped spaces, we discovered him in the janitor’s closet once. This behavior wasn’t only strange, but made it difficult for us to find him whenever he got lost.

ALT A graphic introducing a writer, Sash, and an artist, Kago. Next to each contributor's name is an icon and social media links. Kago's introduction: Hello, It’s Kago. Really excited to be here with everyone. I hope we’ll get along ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ Sash's introduction: it's a thankless job to dream of kim dokja being happy, but someone's got to do it... A shortened excerpt of Sash's writing follows: “Lee Seolhwa-ssi wants to keep me here for another month.” “Ehhh? You seem to be doing fine though? Isn’t it okay to take care of you at home? Don’t worry, ahjussi, we’ll feed you well.” I gave Lee Jihye a grim smile. To be honest, I was perfectly content with staying put in this hospital room, at least for the duration of this storm. The tips of her sneakers jostled her backpack. Lee Jihye no longer carried a sword by her side in this new world. However, there would always be things worth protecting: a familiar keychain, dangling from her bag.
