For my mental health, I’m going to take a break from talking about Nigerian politics. It seems like we are asking for the impossible - for a better government. But somehow, the people who want better, who want the government to do what it’s meant to do, who want to live in and enjoy their country, are being told that they aren’t okay. That they aren’t Nigerian enough. That they don’t know what they’re talking about. And everytime I see comments like this, and people who fight comments like this, it’s clear that this discourse is affecting everyone is ways they may not have even processed and the people they’re fighting with/for and over and living life lavishing and very comfortably. LOL. The power situation has been terrible in recent weeks and they aren’t saying anything about it. There’s no excitement in the land - everywhere is just sad. But they’re still campaigning telling us to vote for them again and some people are clapping for them. Wo! On Election Day, let everyone come out. We should gather in multitudes and stay at the polling units. There’s no reason why anyone should be home on the 16th of January 2027. The fate of the rest of our lives is at the polling booths. So we must mount it. Those who are allowed to vote will vote, those who are disenfranchised will remain there. We won’t fight, we won’t argue, we won’t disrupt the process, but as a collective, we will defend the votes. Anyone who attempts to rig, will pay the price. The strategy is simple: get to the polling units with your power banks, water bottle, speakers, tasers, pepper sprays and any instrument of your choice and make sure you are streaming. Whether you have 100 followers, 1,000 followers or 1 million. Open your socials and let the world see what’s happening around you. Tweet on X. Post on Facebook. Stream on TikTok & IG. Use all your platforms. We need the coverage and that’s the only way we can be sure of a credible election. Election is a few weeks away. We did it during endsars, we can do it again. Clearly talking isn’t working and they’ve showed us that they don’t care and they will frustrate us with silence. The message is received loud and clear. The amount of people this government has thrown into poverty are millions more than the people supporting this government. We will respond to them with votes.

I have so much pent-up rage for Nigerian politicians who have ruined the lives of Nigerians. Nigeria is the richest country in Africa. We have oil. We have vegetation. We have natural resources. We have mineral resources. We have arable land. We are rich in culture. We are rich in people and talent. We don’t have natural disasters. We have everything we can possibly need. But somehow, the average Nigerian cannot afford to eat three square meals. What’s more sad is that the Nigerian politicians who have ruined the lives of Nigerians now use these poor Nigerians as prop during elections to say that “Nigerians love us”. Meanwhile, if you ask them what Nigerians love about them, they can’t tell you. That’s the irony. I have typed, I’ve deleted, I’ve screamed, I’ve paced and I simply don’t get it. There are too many questions I want to ask, but I don’t even know where to start. I think the one that’s the most disappointing are those who used to be for the people but switched sides because of personal gratification. How much money is enough to make you want to associate with those who have no problem ruining the lives of others?

When I tell people to stop scrolling aimless on X, instead of chasing banter, comedy and other brain rot activities. Train your X algorithm to send you life changing informations your way. How else would I have seen this today. And I’m retweeting to my networks, so nobody misses out on it. Good luck 👍
If you are looking to travel the world for work, conferences, competitions, summits, volunteering, workshops, education, and more across Pakistan, Nigeria, SA, UAE, Nepal, India, Ghana, the UK, the US, and beyond. I spent hours during the weekend finding companies abroad that are actively hiring and funding and compiled them into one sheet. Application links, eligibility criteria have been added, so all you have to do is review the sheet and apply. drive.google.com/file/d/1zSJ…

Two interesting things I discovered this week are: 1. That you can get genuine court affidavits online from the Nigerian Federal High Court. A genuine one, not the ones those roadside people give you. The website has all sorts of affidavits, even ones I didn't know existed. 2. The National Population Commission has a working portal. You can register your newborn online and get a certified birth certificate that is accepted worldwide. You can do all these things without any bureaucracy. For 1, visit: portal.fhc.gov.ng/ For 2, visit: vitalreg-selfservice.nationa… Joseph Adedeji

Over 7,000 people from 40+ countries came to Moonshot by TechCabal this year! It was my fourth year leading marketing for it. Since the first edition, attendance has grown 3.1x and ticket revenue 12.5x. I like to think back to 2023 when I had just become Growth Lead. I struggled to delegate, had no real marketing systems, and knew little about events beyond my core skill, performance marketing. Four editions later, working on Moonshot has made me a far better and more rounded Growth professional. After three years achieving incredible milestones, the work can start to feel routine. So this year, I took on some of the most exciting projects of my career: → I built dynamic website timers and a pop-up deployment tool with time-based messaging complete with GA4 tracking. A pop-up subscription alone used to cost us $195/month → I set up conversion tracking across Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Ads, with server-side tracking through Stape. We averaged 14X ROAS on Snapchat and around 15X on Meta (Both wild to me). → I made GA4 our source of truth, with cross-domain tracking (since we sold on an external site) and proper exploration funnels. This showed me our conversion rate, which platforms sold which ticket tiers the most, which days performed best and why. → I tested more than 80 sets of creatives in six weeks. It's true what they say: the marketer with the most creatives wins. None of it would have mattered without an exceptional team which is why I'd specifically like to thank the core marketing team @Tranquil_inks, @joshuer_x, @David_Onugha, @AlexVivyNnabue, first for attending my daily stand-ups, pushing so many strong social, email, influencer and community-led initiatives and generating such a buzz that people were hunting for Moonshot tickets across nearly every social channel. To the design team:@aderemi_adesida, @osazeyyh @chechekalu thank you for being even more audacious this year, infusing motion and other interesting elements and creating a brand identity so recognisable that people now easily associate certain colours and patterns with Moonshot. To the video team: @AbisolaAlawode, @aquila_creator @TEEETO_A for creating an extremely strong base with the launch videos and transforming our briefs into such high-quality videos. What started as a Slack thread is now one of the most important tech conferences in Africa and next year, we become a truly global destination!
