Had myself a birthday today, at the Stingrays Showcase, with my team, @OutlawsAhlers! Couldn't have done it without my catchers @ZariahBlev4295 and @Paisleyplatt making me look good from behind the plate, and all my other teammates having my back in the field with some clutch plays! On the mound: Started 1 game and came in relief in another. Pitched 9 innings with 8 strikeouts, allowing 3 hits, 2 earned runs, and a BAA of .103! At the plate, not my best showing, but still managed to an average of .429 on the day, with a .500 OBP. Here is a video compilation of my strikeouts today. No place I would ever rather be! Had so much fun with my team, @OutlawsAhlers today! We didn't get the outcomes we wanted, but learned what we need to fix! I pitched our game vs. Team PA. 4 innings, allowed 3 hits, had 8 strikeouts, allowed 1 earned run, and had a .176 BAA. Shoutout to my catcher @ZariahBlev4295 for making me look good from behind the plate! Couldn't do it without her! Super excited for this weekend! My team and I will be at the Lasers Showcase, facing strong competition! I'll be pitching the 2nd game tomorrow. Coaches, come check us out! Also this week, had a lesson with @coachClark_UPA focusing on my posture and getting rid of my tennis swipe (tis the season, lol)! Tuesday I had weight lifting and open gym for basketball, but took the rest of the evening off from softball reps to focus on recovery (stretching, massage, and good night of rest). Then Wednesday I had open fields focused on fielding and some hitting with @CarrollSoftbal1; followed by pitching a bull pen focused on spot placement, and a basketball open gym. Thursday I went and got hitting reps off a tee and pitching reps throwing into a rebounder, focusing on drills for spin, my posture, and not swiping. Tonight, my focus is on recovery, scouting my team's competition, and visualization of situations that might happen tomorrow! Not softball related, but received my 3rd Varsity letter in tennis, the 3C award (for getting 3 in a single sport), and the MVP award for my team at our tennis banquet last night! Oh, and I also made the All GCL Co-ed 1st Team!!! (Medal to come at a later date.) I absolutely love my coaches and teammates! They are so supportive and encouraging, and I wouldn't have been able to accomplish any of it without them! Set out with intention today, and had a successful day! At the plate, I think it is safe to say I found the holes! Batted .833, with a .833 OBP, and 2.167 OPS - with 2 singles and 3 Doubles. On the mound, I pitched against a tough one of our sister teams, Outlaws National Homan. Held them to only 4 earned runs with the help of my teammates, with 2 strikeouts, and only gave up 1 walk! My goal on the mound today was to focus in and limit walks due to my tennis swipe, so I think it is safe to say I accomplished what I set out to do! While we didn't take the win in our final game, we went 3-2 on the weekend, learned where we need to improve, and made fun memories! Had a great 1st day back on thr diamonds with my team! We went 2-1 on the day! Pitched the whole 2nd game: 5 innings pitched, allowed 2 hits, with 10 strikeouts, and a BAA of .125. Walked a couple more than I would have liked, but going into this weekend I was working on the swipe I developed during tennis season. Had some really good deep hits to the outfield but couldn't seem to find a hole, so I adjusted with a chopper, and some bunts to ensure I was productive on offense for my teammates! Also got reps in right field, left field, and at 2nd base! Going into today with the intent of focusing on not tennis swiping when on the mound, and on finding some holes! 1st game today is on field 13 vs. Ohio Hawks! Went back to it hard this week! Pitching lessons and reps to work on getting rid of the swipe I seem to develop every tennis season, as well as on my balance. Feeling so busy, and so blessed! Picked up some more tennis wins this week, got my awards from Sophmore year: Red Level Christian Service Award (highest one), High Honors Certificate, and a High Honors Medal! Had my 1st Meeting for the Love in Action Council! Plus I got to be the female Junior representative on my school's Homecoming Court! 🥰 Still making time for softball reps, but not as many as I would have liked, to be honest. Came home to some good news tonight! Not sure how it is possible, but I earned the 4 seed (meaning I am ranked top 4 in my district) for the OHSAA Southwest Region Sectional Tennis Tournament, which gives me a bye in the first round!!!!! Had an awesome/ fun weekend getting to play for my old coaches, with my old teammates, who are now in 18u! Playing under the lights is one of my favorite things to do! I also loved playing to raise awareness for mental health! It's such an important cause! The rain and storms caused some awful rain delays, but thankful we still got to play! Pitched in 3/4 games this weekend and got some hitting/ outfield reps! Also got the MVP award for my pitching! Not too shabby considering I am still only 15! After bracket was over, I also got to practice with my team! Here are a couple pics and a couple strikeouts when I was pitching while subbing.
