Where the Heartwood Sleeps is available for preorder on Amazon!
Shares greatly appreciated. I'm still without a job, recovering from leukemia, and have been working on this for years. If you liked #Wildwood or are a #ghibli fan, this is for you!
Thanksβ€οΈ

I just realized that Heartwood is very Wildwood comp... but it's mature and gay with spice and Ghibli vibes to the max XD
Some shower sex for anyone looking for something to read~
Ao3 being down has finally given me the nudge to go ahead and publish Where the Heartwood Sleeps.
Preoder link soon.
Releases Nov 20.
I've been working on this for years, and I'm terrified, but... it's time to do something with this book.
A lot of people don't know that I started the mha fandom as a shinbaku and bakudeku shipper. No clue why Kirishima stuck to me like glue, but he did. I can't even remember the fic that did it lol But there was a point where "goblin x golden retriever" became my hyperfixation XD
Also, I have this baby! Plus a TON of threads under my pinned, if you're looking for free options!
Reminder that I have a very gay sunshine himbo x grumpy fox spirit spicy dark romantasy I've been working on for ages, and it's over on ream.
Zero pressure, of course! But if you enjoy my fics and are looking for something to read this weekend, this might scratch that itch, idk
Anyway. I'm gonna just gonna...*slowly pushes fanfic archive discourse off my table* *it clatters on the floor*
*awkward silence*
...so. I bet Kirishima sniffs Bakugou's boxers. I bet he makes eye contact when he does it, too. It's a dare.
And Bakugou can't deny a challenge~

Coming out with the unpopular opinion: I will live without your comments/kudos when ao3 is down. If you have my stuff downloaded, you can share it. If you tell me you liked it, thatβs nice, if not have fun!!
Like, yes, of course we love engagement, but that's not why I write. I write because I'm mentally ill and the idiots I share my brain with won't shut up.
Fanfic shouldn't have strings attached; the desperate need to monetize and control it is gonna result in fanfic collapsing.

Like if I found out someone chose MY fic to be part of their little dragon hoard? It would easily make my week

i keep seeing people referring to fic drives as work being shared without βrewardβ for the author and i have to be honest, it bothers me that people are posting on ao3 with their main motivation being recognition and reward. wanting comments and engagement is natural, but i think framing it as reward or a return for your work is kind of indicative that you donβt really understand why fanfiction exists to begin with.
fanfiction exists as a way for authors to express themselves, explore characters and identities and try things out. itβs a creative outlet and you should be writing because you want to do it. not because you want the attention it brings. we lose the culture and motivation behind fandom practices when we commodify them.

no hate to op but genuinely none of the people asking this question are old enough/knowledgable in fandom history enough to remember WHY fic drives exist. theyβre literally created to avoid fic purges from decimating fundamental texts to the fandoms
...uhhh
I have news for you, friendo. People have been downloading (or copy-pasting) fics since before there were archives. This isn't a new thing. Like. What? Fic isn't monetized. It shouldn't matter if readers download and share it??? Isn't the point for people to read it??
Fandom is one of the last free spaces we truly have left, and even then, I'm doubtful we'll have it much longer, specifically in the public sphere. We're inching closer to the door slamming shut on fan works for good bc of how montized it's becoming.
