This response to Kelly Clarkson’s post will be studied by communications professionals for years.
I give it an A+
Just drove all the way to Brooklyn to check out this store I thought looked really rad and had a few things in mind to buy and literally was looked at as if I couldn’t afford it and was told he could find something comparable for me. Wow, dude. You’re an idiot and just lost a huge sale. But y’all should go check out Art of Play in Brooklyn if you enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts character in Pretty Woman. For sure, check it out 👎

Metallica frontman James Hetfield took a swipe at artists who use their concerts to lecture audiences about politics during the band's Las Vegas residency.
In what could easily be seen as a dig at the likes of Macklemore, Hetfield told the crowd:
"Unless you live in Vegas, you've come a long way to spend some time with Metallica. We're grateful for that. Your travels, the money you spend, the time it took, thanks for coming to celebrate with us.
And I just gotta say, Metallica is not here, like some other entertainers, to influence you with their bullshit. We are here to forget about all the outside shit. Metallica's agenda is love, energy and heavy music, baby!"
Hetfield has rarely spoken openly about his politics, but past interviews suggest he holds many conservative values.
On Joe Rogan's podcast in 2016, he explained how he'd moved his family away from the San Francisco Bay Area, having grown tired of what he saw as its political intolerance and elitism.
As a Metallica fan, this is incredibly based! 🤘

Another way to think about Trump announcement today: If he increased US diesel imports from Canada by 4%, he would gain as much fuel as from this Russia deal. But the Canadians are global super-villains, so who wants to buy from them when you could enrich Putin instead?

Yikes.
Respect, I guess, for not lying and saying "of course I regularly take the TTC, I'm the mayor."
But still ... yikes.
Highlight #1 of the Oct 7th Toronto Mayoral Debate (would recommend watching the whole thing)
The "Yes or No" round.
"Do you ride the subway 8 times a month?"
Mayor Chow? - cannot give a straight and simple answer. Needs the question repeated after she already didn't answer it...
Am I the only one thinking she's showing some similarities to Biden before they pulled him in 2024...
Bradford on the other hand - "Yes I ride the subway."

The United States is now officially allied with Vladimir Putin and Russia. We will fund Russia’s genocidal war machine in exchange for Putin helping Trump and the Republican Party in the midterms. One of the most shameful and disgusting days in the history of this Republic.

This is hilarious. The same person whose staff own and use @progresstoronto like Trump uses Breitbart, the same woman who’s appointees ran Chris Alexander, the same person who gave her strategist a plumb position at Toronto Hydro, the same person who’s staff calls everyone who has real issues with her feckless time as mayor racist, is now trying to start a culture war by association. if those aren’t MAGA tactics, I don’t know what is. She’s brutal. Useless. And let’s not forget when lived in subsidized community housing for years when she and he he and were making 100’s of thousands of dollars. Seems important.
I’m disappointed to hear that Brad Bradford welcomed yet another person with extreme views into his campaign.
Divisive MAGA-Trump politics has no place in this election.

Here is Cold Lake First Nation’s statement on their filing for a judicial review of the Pacific Link pipeline national interest designation. It appears they were not among the First Nations scoped in for consultation (they are 300km from the likely origin terminal) and are seeking to be included.
“CLFNS has repeatedly asked Canada to consult with the Nation on both Pacific Link and Pathways and has proposed options for meaningful and timely engagement. Despite those efforts, Canada moved ahead with the national interest designation without meaningful consultation with the Nation. This legal action does not close the door to working with Canada.”

Olivia Chow is not a mean person. The people writing her talking points however seem to be not so nice.
The fact that her campaign seems to be centered solely on fear mongering suggests that her people desperately want to hold onto power, but are unable to tell you why they deserve to.

I was wrong.
I thought Chris Alexander had no impact at all on the Toronto mayoral election. (I still have yet to meet the person who was going to vote for him.)
I realize now it absolutely matters. With three in the race, Olivia Chow could rag the puck. She could get through debates without having to discuss policy.
With Alexander gone, she is being exposed as hollow and unable to think or speak without notes.
Now that there’s only two, there is nowhere to hide for madame mayor.

Projects like Pacific Link will never get built in 🇨🇦 as long as never-ending legal crap like this is afforded a pathway through the courts.

Today I spoke in the House of Commons explaining why anti-Zionism is a form of antisemitism. Criticizing Israel’s government is legitimate. Calling for Israel’s destruction is not.

I LOVE THIS!
A Toronto church commemorated October 7 with 600 Israeli flags. They were all set ablaze.
Today Pastor John Ward and members of his church placed hundreds of new flags back on the lawn.
Solidarity is powerful.
Thank you to our Christian brothers and sisters. 🇮🇱

I am the Conservative Public Safety Critic and a former prosecutor who prosecuted a lot of gun crimes.
I won’t get involved in the race. But I will defend @ScottAAitchison. This is a complete mischaracterization of the bill and who he is. It also doesn’t reflect that his votes have been to keep the guns OFF our streets and punish those who carry them accordingly.
The same Liberals who tabled this bill earlier allowed people caught with handguns on our streets to serve their sentences on house arrest.
Shame on you.

You refused to attend last year’s #Oct7th memorial, but 19 days before an election you expect us to believe that you’ve suddenly had a change of heart and have found your moral compass?
Today marks three years since Hamas’ horrific terror attacks that killed 1,200 Israelis. We remember those who were murdered, including eight Canadians, and again express our deepest condolences for their unimaginable loss. May their memories be a blessing
Toronto is a global city and events around the world impact us deeply. More than ever, Torontonians must remain united against rising antisemitism, confront it wherever it appears, and reaffirm our collective right to live together in peace and safety.
As mayor, I will never waiver on my commitment to the safety of Jewish Torontonians. The Jewish community should not need police presence to go to a synagogue, or a community centre or simply to live proudly Jewish in our city. We will continue to invest in keeping communities safe and strong and will take action until every Torontonian can practice their faith without fear.
We all must be dedicated to confronting antisemitism and hate in all its forms, and building a caring city where everyone belongs.

I can clear this up for anyone who has only started following the frought Canadian gun debate.
The guns on the street, that are used in 95% of crimes, are illegally smuggled handguns by criminal networks and used by other criminals. These firearms are OUTSIDE the legal system, and are NOT related to the firearms ban by the government, for obvious reasons.
Legal firearms, that Chow astonishingly and vaguely referred to, are only used at approved ranges by legal, licensed and vetted firearms owners that don’t commit these crimes. These are the handguns that were targeted by the ban.
So to clarify, the firearms used in crime and the criminals that use them- NOT AFFECTED by the ban Chow spoke about.
The firearms that AREN’T used in crimes and are used responsibly by your neighbours, kids teachers, your doctors, etc..are the ones she was referring to..
Hope that helps…

No kidding.
Trump: "Today is Vladimir Putin's birthday. I'm sure you're going to celebrate it. Are you going to celebrate his birthday? I have a call set up."
What the hell is wrong with you?! Celebrate? You sure? The birthday of a butcher responsible for murdering 25 people in Ukraine today? Who struck an apartment building at 6 in the morning, wiping out entire families, including 5 small kids ON HIS BIRTHDAY!?
You're sure you want to celebrate such a person instead of maybe mourning his victims? And they laughed in response. They fucking laughed! What the fuck is wrong with these people???

Canada will never get to 100% indigenous buy-in, never. We need stronger spines if we are to “build at generational speeds”.
Replying to @algonquindave
Yes. Just get it built. Canada kind of operates like the EU where a super majority is required for key decisions (like on Ukraine). And just as the EU should, Canada must approach Indigenous buy-in on major project from a simple majority requirement.
