DIGGER is about climate change. The film industry has barely addressed the issue. Support the film. See it.
DIGGER is the first significant piece of anarchic, fuck you art aimed at the soulless pigs who have defiled our society, and our planet. But as the film reminds us... we let them. We hyper-focused on the details while they laid waste to the big picture. A masterpiece. 5 stars.

Cities who fund the arts are routinely the most successful btw.
🚨 Zohran Mamdani has doubled grant money for NYC artists. This is the first increase in nearly 20 years.

Hoy domingo, en este día de descanso, te comparto estos tres pensamientos : 1. Las pulgas del perro creen que ladran. 2. He vendido mi diablo al alma. 3. Nada te sucede eres lo que sucede. Te envío un inmenso abrazo, Alejandro . Photos @PascaleMJodo

Pope Leo is right. Art is not some kind of superfluous luxury that can be eliminated from our lives. It is a crucial part of the human experience. We cannot let Big Tech oligarchs destroy it.
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

Mike Patton brought Mondo Cane — his project covering Italian pop songs from the ’50s and ’60s — to Mexico for the first time on Thursday as part of Festival Internacional Cervantino, and he closed with a special encore. At Mexico City’s Palacio de Bellas Artes, Patton shifted to Mexican music, singing in Spanish on the traditional “La Llorona.” He then brought out Mariachi Gama 1000 during “Retrovertigo,” the Mr. Bungle song, and the local institution backed him on Álvaro Carrillo’s “Luz de Luna” and Juan Gabriel’s “Hasta Que Te Conocí.” The latter was particularly notable because the late Mexican pop icon gave a series of famous concerts at the venue in 1990, and later returned for anniversary performances. Gama Mil also accompanied Gabriel for many years. Mondo Cane will play Guanajuato as part of El Cervantino tonight. [📹: Miriam Gálvez]

To suggest that the United States in the mid-20th century was an antifascist nation is no small claim these days. Recently published books have explored the Fascism that took root in the U.S. during the ’30s, when avowedly pro-Nazi organizations held mass rallies at Madison Square Garden and Henry Ford cozied up to Hitler—as well as Americans’ embrace of eugenics, racism, anti-egalitarianism, antisemitism, nativism, and illiberal politics. “This work has helped make our own backlash moment more comprehensible: despite the myth of liberal progress, the reactionary and quasi-Fascist strains of American society have long been there,” Beverly Gage writes. Even the progressive Franklin D. Roosevelt was slow to confront the threat of Fascism, both on his shores and internationally. A new history explores how he—and the country—finally came around. Explore the argument that antifascism has long been integral to our national identity: newyorkermag.visitlink.me/Hi…

There are now AI agents who will automatically reply to tweets on your behalf, often in your voice. People use these agents to grow an audience. Twitter should algorithmically punish these accounts & demonetize them. They are worse than engagement farmers and content thieves.

I am sure the live gigs will be a thrill. Speaking of live gigs, & music played by human beings I don’t think this is gonna go the way this dude thinks. AI is changing a lot of things in a very chaotic bad way yes, but for every action there’s a reaction. Dude lives in a bubble.
I am not joking when I say this. Spotify, Apple Music, and streaming in general is over. AI music is now very, very good. You just don't know yet because all AI music circulating today is from ~2-3 generations ago. Suno v6 pro et al has solved infinite personalized music.
