America turns 250 today.
Empires often imagine themselves as permanent right before history reminds them they aren’t.
America obviously needs to change. The question is whether its people will choose its change, or have it forced upon them by a few: 🧵
Too much of our politics is organized around preserving a version of America that no longer exists.
Its task isn’t preservation, but transformation.
If you truly love it, love it enough to build what comes next.
America’s 250th birthday should be a moment of honesty and global reflection.
Superpowers don’t last forever, especially when they stop investing in their people and the places that sustain them.
History doesn’t owe America another 250 years. This generation will decide what kind of country it becomes, what role it will play in the world, and what legacy it leaves behind.
We also can’t keep sacrificing our own people so American corporations can dominate global markets.
Today, many corporations and billionaires have more practical influence over public policy than the public itself.

But it’s our ancestors’ courage that allowed us to exist.
Before ICE, there were the “Honolulu Rifles.” Dole, Thurston, and other corporate/missionary thugs.
And our Kūpuna fought back. They put their reputations, pride, and bodies on the line.
