Mary Turkington, also known as the ""First Lady of Trucking,"" served on KTA's board for 16 years at the turn of the century. She devoted 50 years to serving Kansas and the transportation industry through the Kansas Motor Carriers Association (KMCA), including 29 years as executive director. A trailblazer in a traditionally male-dominated field, Mary's leadership and dedication helped shape a safer, stronger transportation industry for future generations. As we celebrate 70 years of service, we're proud to remember Mary's contributions and the lasting impact she made on transportation in Kansas.
