The Life of Brian. His story began in the most heartbreaking way imaginable. Rescued with his tiny umbilical cord still attached, tied inside a plastic bag, he was the sole survivor. A precious little life who had already faced more than any baby ever should. Tonight, this incredible little soul is celebrating his second Gotcha Day, safe, cherished and surrounded by his loving family in the UK. Just LOOK at him now! From that tiny, helpless baby to this absolutely stunning, handsome boy, full of character, mischief and life. It is almost impossible to comprehend the journey he has made. Brian is living proof that even the darkest beginnings can lead to the most beautiful stories. His past will always be part of his journey, but it no longer defines his world. Today, his world is filled with love, warmth, safety, and the promise that he will never have to face life alone again. THIS is why we rescue. This is why we never give up. This is why every single life matters. Happy Gotcha Day, beautiful boy. You were born into a world that failed you, but you found your way into a world that loves you.

Human rights lawyers Imaan Mazari-Hazir and Hadi Ali Chattha deserve justice. Today they were sentenced to ten years in prison on counts of “terrorism.” Their crime? Defending activists, lawyers and marginalized communities that were subjected to enforced disappearances and unjust charges. They underwent an unfair trial for this fearless human rights work. Authorities must immediately release Imaan and Hadi and drop all charges against them.
