At this moment in history, when France is at risk of disappearing, my friend @Erga3x and I decided to perform a 19th-century hymn to Saint Joan of Arc, who led French troops during the Hundred Years’ War and reclaimed the throne.⚜️ More than six centuries after her trafic death, Joan remains a symbol of courage and love for one’s country. She reminds us that even when everything seems lost, a single person driven by faith and determination can awaken an entire nation. (Find the link to our folk music channel in the description.)

Osinkoveroistaan. - No, joukkopako puolueesta kertoo kyllä paljon.

Putinin piti vapauttaa kansoja. Lopputulema normal. Bunkkeriin.

The Czech Republic has officially criminalized the promotion of communist movements that suppress human rights, placing them on the same legal footing as Nazi movements. The amendment, signed by President Petr Pavel, explicitly targets anyone who establishes, supports or promotes Nazi, communist or other movements seeking to suppress fundamental freedoms or incite racial, ethnic, religious, national or class hatred. Offenders face prison sentences ranging from one to five years, with additional provisions addressing the distribution of extremist propaganda and symbols. The legislation follows decades of debate over the country's communist past. Czechoslovakia endured more than four decades of communist one-party rule, beginning in 1948 and ending with the peaceful Velvet Revolution in 1989. Supporters, including historians from the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes, argued that communist totalitarianism should be treated as seriously as Nazism under criminal law.

Willkommen in eurer eigenen Utopie. #GenZregelt #Degrowth #Energiewende

Christine Lagarde is leaving the ECB. Even her exit is planned: leave before the 2027 French election so her successor gets picked before voters have a say. Let's use the moment to ask the real question: what is this job even for? One person, in a tower in Frankfurt, sets the price of money for 350 million Europeans. The single most important price in the economy, the one every other price depends on, decided by a committee. We call it "monetary policy." If we did the same thing with the price of bread, we'd call it Gosplan. That's Europe's real problem. It's a central planning project, and like every communist project, it rests on one belief: that the economy is a machine you can steer with levers, rates, regulations and directives, as long as you have enough technocrats and enough models. Macroeconomics as practiced in Brussels and Frankfurt is that illusion dressed up as science. Look at the results. Stagnant growth, industry leaving, purchasing power melting, savers wiped out by inflation, overindebted states propped up by the printing press, social anger, insecurity. This isn't a string of accidents. It's what happens when you replace millions of free decisions with a handful of central ones. Milton Friedman said it 50 years ago: inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon. It doesn't fall from the sky, it comes out of central banks. He distrusted central bankers so much that he proposed replacing them with a computer that would grow the money supply at a fixed rate, no discretion, no "steering." I'd go further. Creating money out of nothing distorts every price at once. Prices are the information that lets an economy function. Falsifying them is lying to everyone at the same time. It should be banned. And the good news is this system is about to become obsolete. What Elon is building, AI, robots, energy, payments, is an economy of abundance where productivity pushes prices down faster than any committee can manipulate them. When the cost of production collapses, the power of those who control money collapses with it. Lagarde is leaving. The next one should be the last.
I have just informed my colleagues that I will step down as @ECB President on 7 February 2027. It has been a source of great pride to serve this institution. I thank all of those who have supported me on this journey over the past seven years.

JUST IN: 🇷🇺🇺🇦 Ukraine Sets Russia’s Marinovka Air Base Ablaze Ukraine has struck Russia’s Marinovka Air Base with attack drones, triggering fires at the facility overnight. The significance is huge, Marinovka is a major launch hub for Russian aircraft conducting glide bomb attacks against Ukrainian positions. 👀 Ukraine isn’t just hitting the front line anymore. It is going after the airfields enabling Russia’s bombing campaign deep behind the battlefield.

Emme osanneet arvata?

Yesterday I was talking with an economist. A genuinely sharp guy. We ended up agreeing on a conclusion that isn't comfortable: Europe and the West are down to two scenarios. Scenario one: communism gets defeated within the next 5 years. We finally do what has to be done on immigration and on the economy. It will be hard, really hard. But better a horrible ending than horror without end. Scenario two: communism wins. And right behind it, most likely, Islamic tyranny. Not in 50 years. Soon after. There is no in-between. No "it'll sort itself out," no lukewarm third way where everyone keeps their little comfort zone. What fascinates me is that the vast majority of people don't see this at all. They're living through this period as if it were just another political cycle. But there's good news. The people who've been sounding the alarm for 20 years were right. They were called crazy, doomers, prophets of decline. And every month, reality proves them a little more right. The faster people realize this, the further ahead we get. Waking up is already half the battle.

When I was in Africa, there was a constant, visceral hatred of whites because we had stuff and they didn’t. There was no corresponding curiosity about how that stuff was created, multiplied or maintained. All that mattered was that they wanted the stuff and that it was “unfair” they didn’t have it. This is exactly the mentality that socialism feeds because it is exactly the same instinct, only expressed in fancier language. You could hear it explicitly and repeatedly in the words of the rioters, looters and protesters in France. You can hear it in the words of the illegal immigrants / invaders to the West. It’s the resentful cry of those who believe that stuff falls magically from the sky, and who demand their share of the magic too.

Öljytuotteiden kokonaisjalostusmarginaali oli heinä-syyskuussa $48,2/barreli, vuotta aiemmin $15,5/barreli. (Norm. markkinoissa 5-15 $:n haarukassa.) Tuotteita on myyty selvästi kalliimmalla suhteessa raaka-aineeseen, ja se on tuonut Nesteelle poikkeuksellisen hyvän tuloksen.

This is what the decline of Islam in Iran looks like. The situation is getting so out of control that the mullahs are losing their grip. They’re trying to pass a law to punish anyone who refuses to wear a hijab in public.Gen Z is running Islam over with a steamroller in Iran.
Iran is very different now. The decline of Islam is accelerating. Since 2022, when people began protesting on a massive scale and burning their hijabs, things have changed significantly. During the January protests, people even set fire to mosques and copies of the Muslim holy book.

This is eye-opening. Europe’s share of global tech R&D has collapsed from 23% in 2005 to just 8% today, while the US has climbed to 62% and China has risen from near zero to 15%. South Korea now outspends Germany, France, the UK, and Italy combined in tech R&D. Yep, you read that right. This is the predictable result of policy choices that systematically favor control and redistribution over growth. Layered regulation, data rules, AI restrictions, labor rigidities, and precautionary frameworks, raises the cost and slows the pace of turning ideas into products, forcing companies to spend scarce resources on compliance rather than experimentation. High taxation and expansive redistributive systems extract capital that would otherwise fund private R&D and risk-taking, while shrinking the after-tax reward for building something new and scaling it. The broader left-leaning mindset that prioritizes equality of outcome over dynamism treats entrepreneurial success as something to be managed, taxed, or shared rather than unleashed and rewarded. Places that protect the returns to innovation and keep barriers low continue to pull ahead, attracting talent and capital that Europe increasingly loses. Europe’s relative decline is the cumulative outcome of treating dynamism as a problem to be regulated rather than the engine of prosperity. Without a shift toward lighter rules, lower burdens on enterprise, and greater tolerance for unequal outcomes from unequal effort, the gap will keep widening, and Europe will become an open-air museum for wealthy Americans and Asians.
