The tropics remain quiet over the Atlantic basin, and formation is not expected over the next week. However, we are heading toward the climatological peak of the season, and tropical activity can develop just about anywhere across the Atlantic basin – so now is a great time to review your hurricane plan and make sure you are prepared.

ALT The official hurricane season for the Atlantic basin is from June 1 to November 30, but tropical cyclone activity sometimes occurs before and after these dates, respectively. The peak of the Atlantic hurricane season is September 10, with most activity occurring between mid-August and mid-October.
