In an exclusive interview with Channel 4 News, Chancellor John Healey the Energy Wealth Fund could be taken as an “indication” into the government’s approach to the Rosebank oil field decision.
He highlighted the previous approval of the Jackdaw gas field alongside plans to channel North Sea oil and gas revenues into the fund.
He said the money could help accelerate clean technology and build long-term national wealth.
Reform has lost its first MSP at Holyrood.
Amanda Bland has left to sit as an independent.
It means that Reform now drops from second place at Holyrood into third behind Labour.
John Swinney claims he’s got into the Prime Minister’s head over independence as Andy Burnham prepares to visit Scotland tomorrow - in the middle of SNP conference.
But can the SNP leader get his story straight on triple lock pensions?

Speaking to Channel 4 News’ Scotland Correspondent @KathrynSamsonC4, First Minister John Swinney says Nigel Farage has “got to think about his position” following allegations surrounding Reform UK’s handling of political donations.
It comes after Mr Farage was filmed by undercover reporters from Verbatim as part of a year-long investigation into alleged attempts to secure donations from foreign sources and potential breaches of electoral law.
The allegations have led to two Reform UK party executives resigning. Dan Jukes said he had been the victim of "entrapment" - while James Orr said he would co-operate fully with the party's investigation. The party has denied wrongdoing.
Swinney says Farage was party to conversations captured in the investigation and argues that Reform’s conduct risks further undermining public trust in politics.

Kerr says his sights are now firmly set on winning gold for Scotland.
Now confirmed.
