Τις πρώτες δηλώσεις μετά τη δικαίωση
«Επιτέλους είναι η στιγμή να κλάψουμε κι εμείς. Να πάμε σπίτι μας και να κλάψουμε.
Έξι χρόνια δέσαμε κόμπο το δάκρυ μας, το κάναμε αγώνα, βγήκαμε στον δρόμο, βγήκαμε στην κοινωνία με το κίνημα το οποίο κράτησε την υπόθεση του Βασίλη ψηλά και αποδείξαμε ότι ο Βασίλειος βασανίστηκε, ο Βασίλειος βασανίστηκε και τώρα είναι στιγμή κι εμείς κάποια στιγμή να πενθήσουμε.
Ο αγώνας όμως συνεχίζεται.
Δεν υπάρχει ειρήνη χωρίς δικαιοσύνη. Δε θα ξεχαστεί τι κάναν στον Βασίλη.
Ο Βασίλειος Μάγγος παραδίνεται σήμερα στην ιστορία δικαιωμένος.
Έξι χρόνια αγώνα, μετά τον βασανισμό του από αστυνομικούς, οι οποίοι θα έπρεπε κανονικά να κατηγορούνται για το θάνατό του, όπως μας έδειξε η τελευταία ψυχιατρική έκθεση, η οποία βγήκε αφού την όρισε το Διοικητικό Δικαστήριο Βόλου.
Παρ’ όλα αυτά, σήμερα από τους έξι, οι πέντε κρίθηκαν ένοχοι για βασανιστήρια.
Είμαι συγκινημένος γιατί τον Βασίλειο τον κράτησε ψηλά έξι χρόνια το κίνημα και η κοινωνία.
Για μας δεν είναι θέμα χαράς. Είναι θέμα λύτρωσης. Είναι θέμα ανακούφισης.
Για μας δεν πρόκειται να αλλάξει κάτι. Θα αλλάξει όμως με τον αγώνα που κάνουμε, γιατί με τη σημερινή απόφαση του δικαστηρίου, η οποία είναι μια συγκλονιστική απόφαση και οποία θα μείνει με έντονα γράμματα στην ιστορία, με τη σημερινή απόφαση, θα σκέφτονται από εδώ και πέρα να βάλουν το χέρι τους στον γκλομπ και στο πιστόλι και να χτυπήσουν, να βασανίσουν, να δολοφονήσουν έναν άνθρωπο, ένα νέο παιδί.
Είμαστε ικανοποιημένοι από την απόφαση του δικαστηρίου γιατί απόφαση αυτή βγήκε όπως τα γεγονότα εκτέθηκαν στην ακροαματική διαδικασία, από την οποία αποδείχτηκε ότι ο Βασίλειος Μάγγος βασανίστηκε από τους αστυνομικούς.
Βασίλειος Μάγγος. Παρών!
Κι ας μη νικήσουμε ποτέ. Θα πολεμάμε πάντα. Αλλά κι όταν νικάμε πάλι θα πολεμάμε.
Αυτό ήταν το σύνθημα που είχε πει ο Βασίλειος Μάγγος. Αλλά δε θα μπορούσε να είναι σύνθημα αν ήταν μια τεράστια πρόταση και γι’ αυτό πάλι έμεινε στην ιστορία και θα μένει.
Κι ας μη νικήσουμε ποτέ. Θα πολεμάμε πάντα.
Αθάνατος!
Αλλά κι όταν νικάμε, πάλι θα πολεμάμε.»
Ο κόσμος φωνάζει «αθάνατος» και στη συνέχεια τόσοι άνθρωποι που γνώριζαν τον Βασίλη φωνάζουν δυνατά:

«Από το σπίτι μου φέρνω φάρμακα, σεντόνια και πάνες. Είμαι δύο χρόνια με τη μαμά μου, μέσα σε νοσοκομεία… Υποτίθεται ότι είναι δωρεάν η Υγεία… Φέρνω φάρμακα από το σπίτι μου, σεντόνια, μαξιλάρια, πάνες, τα καθημερινά φάρμακα της μάνας μου».
