The regulatory backdrop matters too. MissionH24 says the FIA has chosen liquid hydrogen storage for its future hydrogen prototype category, and the ACO has said it aims to introduce a hydrogen class before the end of the decade.

🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING: Fire at the Savannah River nuclear lab triggered an "unfiltered ground-level radiological release" and a shelter-in-place order
The emergency dispatch says the fire was contained to one room at Savannah River National Laboratory, inside the Energy Department's 310-square-mile weapons complex in South Carolina, and that radioactive material escaped at ground level without passing through the building's filters.
Workers in Area A were held behind barricades for about half an hour after 5 p.m., then let out while nobody else was allowed in, and both the dispatch and the site's statement say there's no sign of anything reaching beyond the fence. No cause has been given.
Savannah River is where America's tritium for nuclear warheads gets handled and where excess plutonium and decades of weapons waste are processed, so "one room" at this site means something different than it would anywhere else.
The site runs a radiological-release drill every year, which is why the shelter order came fast, but the questions now belong to the Energy Department: what burned, what got out, how much, and whether the monitors at the boundary agree with the press release.

1 year ago today, @realDonaldTrump and Xi met in Busan and agreed to a pause on China's export controls on graphite anode materials. That pause runs to Jan 10, 2027.
On Jan 10, 2027, China can pull the plug on any country's ability to make computers, phones, drones, electric vehicles.
China controls 96% of global battery-grade graphite. It's a higher concentration of control than rare earths, copper, or lithium.
@IEA estimates $300B/yr in production at risk due to graphite alone.
Our team at @Molten_Ind is working to change that. More coming very soon.

Japan's shipping safety authority ClassNK @ClassNKEOD handbook discusses framework for onboard carbon capture.
BUT who wants to drag around 3.1kg of captured CO2 from combusting each kg of fuel oil?
IOW, the ship weighs more at the end of its voyage!!

Hyundai has sold 50,000 hydrogen vehicles (mainly cars) in South Korea.
S Korea is advancing hydrogen mobility.
It’s costing UK 100s of £millions this year alone (so far) to curtail wind, paid for from bills.
That excess wind could have been used to make hydrogen (from water).
Hyundai will debut a more durable commercial-vehicle fuel-cell system at World Hydrogen Expo 2026, alongside an automated hydrogen refuelling robot, the new XCIENT truck and hydrogen bus technologies.

“Patch the Planet”? Sorry, @OpenAI , I’m just patching Keith. 😉
Plain vanilla never goes out of style on keithdpatch.com
⬇️But I did check for the PHP2Shell vulnerability anyway, & my website is not affected.
OpenAI models helped researchers—operating as part of our Patch the Planet initiative—discover critical security flaws in PHP, an open-source programming language used to run an estimated 70% of websites.
Over the past two months, we led a coalition of maintainers, researchers, and security providers to prepare fixes and protections ahead of disclosure. This duration was necessary because the fix was quite intricate and required a major change to the PHP engine. Every site using PHP can now safely upgrade their version to stay secure, in addition to applying mitigations from various security vendors.
Due to the severity of these flaws and PHP’s widespread use, we consider this bug to be one of the most impactful vulnerabilities in recent memory. It also marks a new phase, where AI can find security bugs with internet-scale impact.
This is an example of the Defender’s Window in action: to our knowledge, frontier AI was able to find this vulnerability ahead of attackers, giving defenders time to prepare.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
OpenAI may claim a role in the coordinated response and patching process. But the initial discovery and exploit development, however, occurred several months earlier by an independent researcher.
