It’s that time of the Twitter cycle again! 🐦 This is news to me, but apparently my own institution doesn’t even think I rate “Dr.”

#AACR22 Analysis 2: Several preclinical updates were presented describing two different dual-targeting strategies for r/r NHL and two approaches for developing switchable CAR-Ts. Celltelligence provides insights and context for each presentation: bit.ly/CT-523794
Sad to not be joining my colleagues in-person at #AACR2022 but excited to virtually attend presentations. Happy Day 1 of AACR!

And leaving the bench doesn’t mean you don’t see cool, exciting science happening every day. I love my non-academic, non-bench career (plus the perks of traveling, a work/life balance, and better pay)
Leaving academia doesn't mean leaving science. Science in industry is exciting too. Joining a biotech/pharma does not mean your creativity is discouraged, quite the opposite.

An amazing read! Enjoyed @carlhjune’s highlight on these findings at #SITC21
Our newest paper is out in @CellCellPress today! Our postdoc @charlyryangood in collaboration with Angela Aznar and Shun Kuramitsu from the @carlhjune lab identify new features and regulators of CAR T cell exhaustion! @PennCDB @PennEpiInst #immunotherapy #CART 🧬🔬
We are pleased to present The Year in Cell Biology: 2021 collection, highlighting some of the outstanding research published over the last year in JCB. We hope you enjoy reading the collection and welcome your comments! bit.ly/3rtllGF #CellBio2021

Based on the recent news, I really hope we will see a greater crackdown on PIs that: -are guilty of discrimination/harassment -pressure to fabricate data -make lab members compete against each other on the same project -force lab members work insane hours

Thank you @IoanaOlan and @narita_lab for a beautifully written spotlight on our work!
.@IoanaOlan and Narita @narita_lab preview a study from @KellyLeonPSU et al. @airdlab (bit.ly/36vfSn1) that shows that DOT1L is an epigenetic regulator of the IL1A gene during #oncogene-induced #senescence. bit.ly/2U4Pb5S #epigenetics

My student asked me: “Why doesn’t it count if I say that you are doing a great job?”. I have wanted to write about this and act on this for the longest time. A 🧵 about why I think we should introduce accountability for being “a good mentor” in Academia. 1/n

Check out Aflah’s, and others, wonderful piece on how her gender identity shaped her experiences in STEM! Inclusion and diversity are very much important in STEM fields!! @CellPressNews @PennStHershey #DiversityandInclusion
Replying to @CellCellPress
Aflah Hanafiah is a graduate student working in the Zhonghua Gao lab at @BMB_PSU where she studies the roles of PRC1 during early development. Read her piece, “A long road to becoming” spkl.io/601943M7J #CellPressPride #PrideInStem
