Did you know 96% of books published by the Big Five sell fewer than 1,000 copies? And did you know that stories published at Fiction on the Web get an average of 2-3,000 readers each? Usually, a bunch of comments too! Thanks to our authors, readers, and commenters - we love you!
Submitting stories for publication is time consuming. Acceptance rates are low. Competition is fierce. I encourage my writer friends to submit frequently. Quality writing deserves quantity submissions.
“The Dirt Eater” has been published in Offcourse #106. It had been previously rejected several times, including once by an editor who “didn’t understand” it. I don’t think it’s a difficult story, though it is open to interpretation.offcourse.org/issue106/wethe…

I'm proud that Fiction on the Web has received so many accolades despite being such a small magazine. It's just me and a handful of volunteer readers, yet we're competing with the big ones! fictionontheweb.co.uk/
Over the years, I have received many unsolicited comments on my stories. I've collected a sampling of them here: kenwetherington.com/accolade…
My story "The Dirt Eater" will be published in "Offcourse" #106 in September. I'll post a link when it's available. It will be my 31st published story.
My story, “The Fortune Teller,” has been published in "Discretionary Love." Though the story opens with a confrontation, it is ultimately a gentler story than my typical dark, open-ended tales.

My short story collection doesn't have a theme, because it's a "greatest hits" from 20 years of writing. Every other story (more or less) is comedy, and the rest are a mixed bag: sci-fi, horror, crime, literary, historical fiction. fictionontheweb.co.uk/p/best…
