Sokoto showed up massive for Atiku today.
Nigerians are tired of hunger, fear and broken promises. He’s the candidate with the plan to end insecurity, restore hope for our youth and make Nigeria affordable again.
The rescue starts now. #AtikuInSokoto
I’ve always preferred the American democratic model for one structural reason, it is effectively a two party system. Voters face two large organized alternatives with national reach, resources and a realistic chance of forming government. That clarity produces accountability. The party in power knows a coherent opposition can replace it and the opposition knows it must offer a credible alternative rather than a protest.
Nigeria’s electoral system shows the opposite pattern. Multiple parties and third forces, yet they repeatedly function as vote splitters. Opposition leaning voters divide their support across several candidates or parties that share similar critiques of the incumbent but lack the scale, funding or geographic spread to win. The ruling party by contrast, usually retains a more unified base and the advantages of incumbency. The arithmetic is simple, when the anti incumbent vote is divided, the party already in office needs only a plurality not a majority to stay.
In practice, the third force often returns the government in power by preventing a single alternative from assembling a winning coalition.
A durable two-party arrangement would not erase Nigeria’s diversity, but it would force political actors to build broader coalitions before election day rather than after. It would give voters a clearer choice between two programs that have already negotiated internal trade offs, reduce the spoiler effect and raise the cost of poor performance for whoever holds office. Nigeria’s repeated pattern of fragmented opposition has produced the opposite. Concentrating competition into two viable poles is one practical way to change the political arithmetic.
After all this populist shalaye, come and discuss policies. Populism is not ideology. Start by telling us why you’re such a pathological liar, then explain how you plan to handle a complex country like Nigeria beyond empty slogans and ethnic mobilisation.

Bro, I cannot understand for the life of me why women are so heartless. What kind of person is ending a marriage on these grounds?
Wives can just get up and leave you at any given time for whatever flimsy reasons yet you people think they are family? Set of people who don’t care about anything other than themselves.
All of you playing bigotry cards today should know that it’ll come and bite you in your ass in the near future. You will cry had I known…

Atiku is the most competent, I do not see any reason why anyone will think otherwise.
You’re running on a treadmill okay that’s cool, but what has the sign of the cross got to do with anything on the treadmill?
So the last elections, my dad voted apc while my mom voted labor, well that’s not going to happen again, I’m in charge now. We’re all voting Atiku Abubakar…
