There really is no layer of Hell deep enough for everyone involved in this administration.
Fixed it for you, @NYTimes.

Many on the left suspected this was the case, but it’s still wild to see the WSJ confirm it.
Needless to say, stripping the citizenship of opposition elected officials is really, really far down the road to fascism.
New: The federal investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar aims to build a case to strip her of her U.S. citizenship and ultimately deport her, according to U.S. officials and others familiar with the probe wsj.com/politics/policy/ilha… via @McCormickJohn @MHackman @sgurman

Just remember that for all their howling about DEI, the single most important factor for hiring in the Trump administration is loyalty, not merit.
NEW: DOJ's civil rights division, down about 300 career lawyers, has hastily hired a new crop of 130 people -- some w/ criminal records, minimal experience, tarnished work histories, hyperpartisanship and downright bizarre public statements.

If you or I did this, we could face up to 25 years in prison.
But when Donald Trump uses the presidency for insider trading, Republicans just say, “well, he’s a businessman.”
The most corrupt president ever, and it’s not even close.
Just two days before launching an effort to slash red tape for commercial space transportation, President Donald Trump purchased up to $5 million of SpaceX bonds, according to ethics filings. cnn.com/2026/10/08/investing…

This is the #1 reason why I have subzero patience for the contrarians who retroactively downplay Jan 6, which shocked them to the core in real time.
It failed because there were still a handful of Republicans in key positions who stood up to Trump.
They’re gone now. That’s bad.

Does Hegseth really think the consequences of their actions is what stops a terrorist from being a terrorist? Executing terrorists publicly doesn’t give future terrorists pause, it emboldens them because martyrdom in service of the struggle is the ultimate sacrifice to them.
There is a reason we execute our enemies, foreign and domestic, quietly and unceremoniously disperse their remains never to be found. They don't deserve ceremony. They don't deserve what is a hero's death to them.
Wheeling a paralyzed Nidal Hasan into a room to be publicly executed turns a man that should be forgotten to history as a traitor and terrorist into a video that every single person in every single terrorist training camp in the world watches.
He should be treated like every other traitor, terrorist, and enemy of the state this nation has executed. Killed in a dingy room in front of a select few witnesses including any victims that need closure, cremated, and his ashes scattered to the winds to be forgotten for eternity. That is how you make people understand there are consequences for these types of things.

Internally I am screaming as loud as I possibly can. Combing the world's most powerful military with a violent apocalyptic theology can become absolutely catastrophic considering our capacity to produce death on a mass scale. Honestly, nothing scares me more in this country than these christian nationalists taking over the military who are going around telling soldiers that trump was anointed by god and going to war with Iran will help bring about the 2nd coming. We fought a revolution to escape men like this. The framers made the 1st amendment for a reason. These people have to be removed immediately.

Gas prices are soaring because of an illegal war. Groceries that aren’t being recalled are unaffordable. Utility rates are skyrocketing as data centers demand more of our grid. Yet Congress made this their priority after taking the summer off.
As Dr. King said, “Call it democracy, or call it democratic socialism, but there must be a better distribution of wealth within this country for all God’s children.”

it’s very telling of the modern-day republican party that not a single republican politician, not even bernie moreno, has publicly called on max miller to resign
NYT: Emily Moreno, the daughter of Senator Bernie Moreno, also an Ohio Republican, has said that Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) held a gun to her head; pushed her against a wall and hit her head; and fractured their daughter’s collarbone and bruised her shoulder.

again, big picture, donald trump won an election about affordability and then he
- passed tariffs (which raise consumer prices)
- expanded the deficit w a ginormous corporate tax cut (raises interest rates)
- waged a stupid war (raises gas prices)
- and now refuses to sign a bipartisan bill to reduce housing costs bc he's protesting senate republicans for failing to pass voting restrictions
... while making $2 billion from crypto rug pulls that transferred income from his supporters to his bank account

Trump is literally walking all over your tax dollars.
For decades, every president since Truman has used the walkway between the White House residence and the Oval Office without issue. Trump decided it wasn’t good enough for him.
He said he would pay to retile it himself. Suprise, surprise, it was another shameless lie.
Internal budget documents show you, the American taxpayers, paid $689,232 for it.
And where is he getting the money? From our national parks.
Our parks are already short $23 billion in repairs, and more than 900 projects have lost their funding. Yellowstone lost a project to stop roof leaks. Acadia lost its free shuttle. A Colorado park lost the money to fix a guardrail.
But Trump found money to pave the ground he personally walks on with special granite.
Trump is forcing America’s national parks to slash budgets, cancel badly needed repairs, and lay off workers. He takes the money those parks actually earn – nearly $100 million in visitor fees – and has been funneling it into his own personal projects, including paving the very ground he walks on with special granite.
And it’s not just park fees. Your tax dollars are in that pot too. Taxpayer funding for projects in our nation’s capital surged by 92% over the last year.
Trump seems to think your tax money is his money. He thinks he is entitled to raid national parks, cancel repairs, lay off workers, and use public funds to redecorate the place where he lives and works.
The level of greed is just disgusting.

Every American should be outraged by what Trump has done to our nation's 250th birthday celebration. What should have been a once-in-a-generation moment to unite the country has been turned into another vehicle for division, propaganda, and political gain.

"The Supreme Court will, for a generation, always serve as a veto of any and all progressive legislation. So even if Democrats achieve the herculean feat of winning the House, Senate and White House, and actually passing legislation, the Supreme Court will always strike it down. So we have to decide if we want to just win symbolic victories, if we want to just get caught trying, or if we actually want to make permanent, meaningful change. If it’s the latter, then inherently, that requires us to reform and expand the Court."
