At the 77th UNHCR Executive Committee session in Geneva, H.E. Ambassador @KhadraDuale, delivered Somalia’s national statement, highlighting progress in refugee protection, strengthening cooperation with UNHCR and advancing durable solutions.

Somalia’s delegation, led by Ambassador @KhadraDuale, Permanent Representative of Somalia in Geneva, welcomed the adoption. The 260 recommendations Somalia supported will guide its human rights agenda in the coming years.
The focus now turns to implementation: assigning clear responsibilities, setting realistic timelines and taking measurable action in cooperation with national institutions and international partners.

Ambassador @KhadraDuale delivered Somalia’s statement during the interactive dialogue on the report of the Fact-Finding Mission on Sudan at the 63rd Session of the Human Rights Council.
Somalia condemned grave violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against civilians in Sudan, called for safe and unhindered humanitarian access, and stressed the need to hold perpetrators accountable. Somalia further called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a peaceful, inclusive and Sudanese-led political solution.
Somalia also rejected foreign interference and reaffirmed its support for Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, independence and territorial integrity, as well as AU and IGAD efforts to advance peace.

CAF Referee Omar Artan Abdulkhadir has been invited by UEFA to attend the UEFA Men’s Referee Summer Course 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The course will take place from 31st August to 2nd September 2026.
UEFA has also indicated that they want Omar Artan Abdulkhadir to officiate football matches in European Competitions.
UEFA has sent an official invitation to CAF and the Somalia Football Associations to inform them about the invitation.
