I used to write my book and 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 write the pitch/comps/synopsis. Now, I do it backwards! Here's why: vickyweberbooks.substack.com…

As a librarian & children's author, I'm used to (and love) working with kids, but one of the most special things about my newest book is that ADULTS are connecting with this story: sometimes because of their own lived experiences and sometimes because this history is new to them.

Hi, friends! I LOVE that @lori_huntsman is using TOO MUCH! AN OVERWHELMING DAY by Angel Chang and me in her class to talk about sensory overwhelm, and now her class of 35 could use a few more noise-canceling headphones. Can you help? See below for more info:
Too Much! An Overwhelming Day by @writerjolene was the perfect way to introduce noise canceling headphones sent our way. Many of my 4th graders find headphones help them focus & feel less overwhelmed. A few more would make our day! #lawtwitter #grateful

A reminder that feels important today:
Your worth as a writer is NOT measured by:
-Sales numbers
-Your follower count
-Your number of rejections
-How many books you've written
-Whether you have a publishing deal
If you're writing, you ARE a writer. Full stop.

A reminder when you're feeling inundated with writing advice:
There is no single right way to write a book.
Write every day…or don't.
Plot the whole thing meticulously…or pants your way through it.
Write from beginning to end…or start with the scenes that excite you most.
Revise as you go...or fast-draft and save edits for later.
Whatever helps YOU get words on the page is the right method. Don't listen to anyone who tells you otherwise!
