People get so nervous when they quit. It's understandable, since managers often mishandle these situations. If you've been burned before, it's easy to worry. In this week's nerd processor, I wrote about why you should take the time to quit well. kieransnyder.ck.page/posts/h…

Earlier this year, I surveyed 200 middle and high school students about how they use AI. This week, I surveyed 200 teachers. If Abbott Elementary can dedicate a whole episode to this, it's definitely worth a nerd processor case study! Data in the article. kieransnyder.ck.page/posts/y…

This week nerd processor looks at who's most likely to say I told you so. Broke it down by gender + race, both have significant findings. But the most striking thing: engineers are 7.5x more likely to say I told you so than everyone else. Full data: tinyurl.com/u9xyzexw

Both men and women are much more likely to say I told you so to people of their own gender!

What is one area where even your biggest detractors would acknowledge your goodness? For me, it's probably writing or work ethic.

This year, I've published data about hybrid meetings, idea annexation, participation patterns in remote vs. in-office meetings. Modern meetings are breaking in new ways, and it's fascinating. Does anyone want to read a book w all this data? Is writing a book worth the effort? 🤔

I compared 100hrs of in-person with 100hrs of remote meetings. All had between 2-10 attendees. I wanted to find out which meeting setting was more inclusive. tl;dr in-person meetings have much stronger representative participation, esp from women. tinyurl.com/bn7bwme2

Next week I'm bringing some real meeting data to the remote vs. in-office kerfuffle. As with any religious debate, data may not change anyone's mind. But I found it uneasy to contemplate bc it is not what I wanted to believe. Subscribe at kieransnyder.ck.page/

This is what mile 24 looked like last weekend 🎉 It was my slowest marathon by an hour, but I had the time of my life!

Textio spent money on some stuff in our first few years that I wish we hadn't (ahem conference sponsorships ahem). But some stuff was well worth the money, and I wish we'd spent more on them sooner. Wrote it about this week. kieransnyder.ck.page/posts/t…

In Jan I told my loved ones I was gonna run my first marathon in 13yrs in June. I instantly got covid, couldn't run for a month. Then I hurt IT band, have to go 2min/mi slower than normal. This wknd I am doing it + I am grateful. Whatever pace makes sense on race day is good 🙏

Why is it so hard to get AI right? I spent a decade building technology to handle AI sensitivities at Textio, and it is very hard. The approach that most app developers are taking creates a never-ending game of whack-a-mole. I wrote about it this week. tinyurl.com/5x5nxhbk

Hey @textio is working on this year's big performance feedback industry report! As usual, we're running an anonymous 2-min survey to see how well people's impressions align with the observable data in real documents. Will you fill it out? Thank you! surveymonkey.com/r/traitsatw…

This week, I wrote about the things I wish I'd known about managing execs before doing it. As Carole Robin would say, so many AFOGs here (Another F***ing Opportunity for Growth). If you're new to managing execs, maybe this will help you too kieransnyder.ck.page/posts/h…
