The #Knicks and #Jazz re-engaged in "talks" this morning. Not elevated to Zanik, Ainge or Rose's level yet, was a conversation between Aller's team (unconfirmed who from the NYK strategy group) and David Fizdale of all people. Go figure. Nothing has changed I am told.

Shams confirming our reporting again. #Knicks unwilling to part with Toppin and Ainge has not moved off initial asking price of 6 firsts, 3 swaps and 2 of Grimes, IQ, Obi. The trade will not happen unless Utah comes down in price, which is not Ainge's MO. His strength is patience

Shams confirms in article what we've reported from high level source. #Knicks and Jazz are at a stalemate and are not currently in negotiations on a Mitchell deal. Unless something changes radically with Ainge, which is not his M.O., or Dolan steps in, unlikely, trade is on pause

#Knicks This is right from Hahn. The Tommy Dee report from this morning is not correct. The position the Knicks have taken is Obi will NOT be included in any trade that includes unprotected picks going back to Utah. Ainge has not budged in his price. The two sides are stalemated

#Knicks Have heard RJ and Obi have been untouchable in any Mitchell trade from the beginning fwiw. The FO's plan is to (try to) rehab Randle's value enough to trade him before the deadline to free PF for Obi. Wes made clear to Thibs his job depends on playing Obi more this season

#Knicks not expected to sign Carmelo Anthony unless one of Toppin or Randle are traded. I am told the market for Randle is slim and the front office is hesitant to include Toppin or Grimes in a Mitchell deal.
