Some girls play house with their boyfriends. I play Federal Reserve with my own central bank fintech, managing strategic reserves to protect my citizens (aka the $Knight Cavalry). We are not the same!! 😂🤣

Where do you go when motives become illusive? You verified the identity. You validated the documents. You cleared sanctions screening. And still, the risk entered the institution unnoticed. Fraud rarely reveals itself at onboarding. It emerges later, in transactions, in patterns, in the quiet drift between who a customer was and what they are doing now. Knight provides intelligence beyond KYC, helping financial institutions read behavior over time, across borders, after the checks are done. Verification confirms identity. Intelligence confirms intent. ♞ Talk to us: knightintel.co/

An estimated $579.4 BILLION lost globally to fraud and scams in 2025. Now factor in cyberattacks, hacks, data breaches, and the growing attack surface of AI-powered finance. As money becomes programmable and financial systems become increasingly interconnected, trust and security infrastructure can't remain an afterthought.
By 2027, identity verification alone won't be enough. According to LexisNexis, an estimated 70% of fraud occurs after initial KYC is completed. Banks face millions in annual fraud losses, while AI is making impersonation and identity fraud easier to scale. Deepfake technology can now fabricate faces, identity documents, and supporting records with increasing sophistication. Yet many compliance processes still rely on manual reviews, fragmented systems, and PDF-based documentation. As Bernadette Pantaleon @BennyInHerBag , Founder and CEO of Knight, explains, fraudsters are continuously evolving their methods while many traditional compliance processes struggle to keep pace. The next frontier of financial security isn't just verifying who someone is at onboarding. It's understanding risk and financial behavior beyond that initial verification. That's the challenge Knight is building to address: Connecting financial context and intelligence across institutions, systems, and borders to enable more informed risk assessment. This is founder crack cocaine and I'm probably going to be smiling about this for the entire week. 😊❤️ I just had a catch-up with one of our partners in NYC. He leads startup partnerships, so he's constantly talking to founders and seeing what people are building. After our last meeting, he attended a friend's wedding and ended up talking with a bunch of people in tech, specifically from #OpenAI and #Anthropic. At some point they asked him: "Hey, since you're working directly with startups all day, what are people building these days? What's the most interesting thing you've seen recently?" And apparently @KnightIntelco was the first thing that came to mind. 🥺 Honestly, that alone means a lot! For someone who spends every day talking to startups, founders, and new products, the fact that Knight was the first thing he thought of is such an incredible compliment. He started explaining the idea of portable financial identity, digital nomads and expats carrying their financial reputation across borders, and making globally mobile people bankable instead of having to restart from zero every time they move countries. 🌐✈️ The reaction was: "Wait... that's actually really cool." "That's so unique." "I've never heard of anything like that." Honestly, I think the biggest fear as a founder isn't competition. It's wondering whether you're insane. Whether the thing you've been obsessing over for months actually exists as a real problem, or if it's just living rent-free inside your head. For the longest time, Knight felt almost too abstract to explain, and I've been carrying this vision for quite awhile! So hearing that people were casually discussing it at a wedding, without me even being in the room, and immediately understanding the vision, and they're now seeing the Economics and the venture scale... I don't know. That just makes me ridiculously happy. It's crystalizing, what I've been seeing all along. 🫶❤️ #startupjourney #startupfounders #fintech #buildinpublic

Plaid for Government Benefits @gustaf Applying for government benefits means proving the same facts again and again across systems that don’t talk to each other. That creates friction for honest applicants and openings for fraud. Government needs a Plaid-like layer for verified income, tax, and residency data: verify once, apply everywhere. As AI agents begin handling enrollment, trusted data infrastructure becomes even more important.

Knight was born from a problem our founder, @BennyInHerBag, experienced firsthand. Despite consistently earning 5 figures across 3 countries through both Web2 + Web3, her financial history wasn't recognized when she returned to her home country. Even records issued by the same banking institution in another jurisdiction couldn't be readily used to establish her financial standing. This is an increasingly common challenge for modern earners. According to the 2026 Branch + Stripe Gig Workforce Index, 46% of surveyed gig workers use three or more platforms to find work. Income is becoming increasingly distributed across platforms, currencies, and jurisdictions. Yet financial institutions still lack a standardized, interoperable way to interpret this information collectively. The problem is no longer access to financial data. It's the ability to interpret it across disconnected systems. Knight is building an AI-native intelligence layer that unifies identity, banking, and on-chain financial activity into explainable institutional reports. The objective is to support: ✅ More comprehensive creditworthiness assessments ✅ Fewer unnecessary application declines ✅ Better-informed lending decisions ✅ Faster onboarding and underwriting Financial history should remain intelligible across borders. knightintel.co/

The CEO of @WeAreOsome, a Singapore-based company, watched this part of my interview and went on to write a thoughtful essay about it. What struck me was that he'd experienced the very same pain point I was describing. For context, Osome is somewhat similar to Stripe Atlas, helping entrepreneurs from around the world incorporate and manage their businesses in Singapore, regardless of where they're based. It's interesting to see how the same friction in cross-border finance shows up from different perspectives, even among people building solutions for global entrepreneurs. The last time the credit system was updated was in 1899, when Equifax was founded—the same year aspirin was invented. One of them got an upgrade. The global trust system hasn't. @KnightIntelco is for modern earners whom the traditional banking system still fails to understand. Your "weird" profile doesn't fit into the traditional 9-to-5 payroll system. We designed our intelligence technology to help financial institutions and governments understand the modern global earner.

Very insightful thesis for @KnightIntelco 🐎
Knight as your Trust Passport Imagine trying to enter a new country, or a new financial system, every time you open an account, move money, or interact with an institution. Today, most systems treat you like you have no history. You resubmit the same documents, the same PDFs, the same explanations. The institution starts from zero. No memory of where you’ve been, how you’ve behaved, or the trust you’ve already earned. Knight is building the opposite: a Trust Passport. Your normal passport proves who you are and shows where you’ve traveled. Knight’s Trust Passport proves who you are and carries your financial track record, credit behavior, on-chain history, and reputation with you, so institutions can see continuity instead of starting over. This applies to people. It also applies to agents. As AI systems begin to act, transact, and operate across platforms, the same problem appears: how do you know which agent is authorized, what it’s allowed to do, and whether its behavior has been reliable over time? Knight embeds both KYC (Know Your Customer) and KYA (Know Your Agent) into the same trust layer. A human’s financial identity and an agent’s operational history can both travel as portable, structured context. For users and agents: less friction, fewer resets, and the ability to move across institutions without losing accumulated trust. For banks, fintechs, neobanks, and platforms: richer context to approve legitimate actors faster, detect risk earlier, and stop treating every new border, or every new agent, like a blank slate. Money already moves across borders in real time. Agents are beginning to move too. Trust still resets at every checkpoint. Knight is the layer that makes trust travel, for people and for the agents acting on their behalf. ♞ #TrustPassport #KYC #KYA @KnightIntelco
