I read “Generations” a looong time ago and kept up with their work until Strauss died.

I feel this as a father. Having children injects a dose of the miraculous into our rote adult lives.

Maybe I'm just not Apple's target demographic, but I have touch on my laptop and love it.
In this case, it seems like one of those features Apples brings late to the game, but says they did it somehow 'better'

You basically reworded Thomas Edison's quote on the lightbulb and spun that as a failure...
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work"
And Elon already found a way that works...

If I have to explain it to you, you Don't have the hardware to understand.
As we go through this "singularity" we are passing through a technological and economic phase transition where the change is so quick and widespread, the way society is organized changes unpredictably.

Over the past few decades, technological change has accumulated at a point that made it seem like it stalled.
This is simply what happens when water approaches 100°C. It seems to pause before accumulating enough energy to turn into steam.
We are now at this phase transition.
