Love how, after 3 issues of things being played completely seriously, Hunger ends with some pretty hilarious comments Eddie makes and the silly idea that there's going to be a "happily ever after" for them. Almost as if bonding to that suit will always be a delusional a fantasy

"The other took what it could from me. But I didn't have enough to give." Hunger is absolutely the best Venom mini. The middle act of the fragmentation between both characters that started in 1994 and ends in 2003. The false promise that things can go back to the way they were

More Venom stories needed to have the vibe that Madness and Hunger did with this almost-psychedelic environment of Eddie getting overwhelmed by the darkness of himself and of NY. For Brock, New York should be the grimiest place on planet earth This is Venom in his element (+)

I mean come on. In hunger Kaminski himself said it. Eddie's a journalist, he should be venturing in the worst places he can find. That should be the difference between street-level Venom and Spider-Man

I didn't remember that The Hunted was such a fun mini lol. I had the mindset of wanting to get it over with it to read Hunger but the book's actually pretty entertaining. The action's funny (Classic Rad Eddie) and it dabbles into some interesting concepts for symbiotes

The thing about the ending of #25 is that reframing Mid 20s Bruce Wayne finding solace by adopting Grayson with the narrative of him dealing with an unplanned pregnancy is actually pretty interesting. It's a more immediate way that responsibility...

...knocks at his door because he won't be able to see himself as just his father's son. He'll be forced to grow up and possibly abandon an anger he woefully revels in to take care of his world I get the complaints about the way Selina was sidelined, but there's potential here

.
SPOILERS FOR ABSOLUTE BATMAN #22 Honestly a pretty big fan of Snyder's take for Scarecrow. The character having this nuance towards fear as this "dread of reality" in which we make up a more comfortable quick-fix to fully picture what we're going through is pretty neat. (+)

...Batman's "winds of change" aren't seen and neither a developed theme and/or bond with Barbara, things just end up feeling less intentional from a storytelling perspective. She's the embodiment of this "change" Batman is making, but I'm not convinced still.

Look Absolute Bats is managed by a great creative team and has been an extremely fun and engaging time for 18 issues. But man I needed to get out of my chest that this arc really wasn't for me and I hope the future of the book is still bright
