We are offering free and priority access (including for commercial applications) to our national river flow datasets to researchers, NGOs, consultancies, and Indian startups. Please fill this form: forms.gle/62YVnFPSvbAw6ziZ7 ILDAS-Flows is a high-resolution streamflow reanalysis product developed using the Indian Land Data Assimilation System (ILDAS), an integrated hydrologic–hydrodynamic modeling framework for the rivers and floodplains of the Indian subcontinent. Built on a 12 m river network, it provides daily streamflow estimates from 1948 to 2022 in 500,000+ river reaches, assimilating gauge observations from over 200 discharge stations through a Localized Ensemble Kalman Filter (LEnKF). For each river reach, the dataset includes daily discharge, annual maximum discharge and its date of occurrence, 2- to 100-year return-period flood estimates, flood seasonality indices, and fitted flood frequency distribution parameters. Reach metadata include reach and downstream reach identifiers, stream order, upstream drainage area, reach length, slope, coordinates and basin name. ILDAS: hydrosense.gitbook.io/ildas HydroSense Lab: hydrosense.iitd.ac.in/ ILDAS-Flows is provided “as is,” without warranties or liability for its use, and must not be relied upon for critical decisions without independent verification and expert assessment.

Introducing the first conceptual framework and testable hypotheses for land tenure in territorial carnivores, highlighting its role in population stability and responses to environmental change. It’s time to bring land tenure into the spotlight of carnivore ecology and conservation. @Kanfeline @sumankoley94 @shaheerkhan @thewild_dodo @wii_india @bhlab_india @rameshpandeyifs @GobindsagarBha1 @SPYadavIFS @IBCA_official @ntca_india #carnivoreecology #wildlifeconservation #landtenure #ecology

Our study documents a direct observation of a Fishing Cat (Prionailurus viverrinus) scavenging on an Olive Ridley Sea Turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) carcass in the Bhitarkanika mangroves, India. A rare observation that adds another piece to our understanding on the natural history and about the feeding ecology and behavioural flexibility of this elusive cat. As they released the Great Indian Bustards into the wild in Rajasthan’s Sam, Desert National Park, saw Dr Sutirtha Dutta, Dr Tushna Karkariya, and Hrishika Sharma got all emotional. One can only imagine how some dedicate their entire lives to selfless causes. No words of praise are enough for them and the entire team that has made it possible. #IndiaRewildsGIB

A historic day for wildlife conservation in India. Sir, your guidance, unwavering support and deep understanding of conservation continue to inspire us. Your vision strengthens our resolve to turn such milestones into a lasting legacy for India’s wildlife.
In a milestone move, released two male Great Indian Bustards in Sam, Desert National Park, Jaisalmer, today morning. This landmark success has been made possible by the nearly decade-long unwavering dedication of our scientists, researchers and ground staff who have spent years to ensure GIB reclaims the deserts of Rajasthan. I thank PM Shri @narendramodi ji for his continued guidance, encouragement and constant support in ensuring our scientific community can work for the conservation of all our species, including the GIB. #IndiaRewildsGIB

A day before we begin the rewilding of the Great Indian Bustard in Sam, Desert National Park, Jaisalmer, visited the breeding facility at Ramdevra. I was immensely impressed by the perseverance of our young researchers and scientists, who have pursued this project with passion for years, demonstrating exceptional dedication to the conservation of this iconic species. #IndiaRewildsGIB

Moments like these remind us that monitoring wildlife requires patience and respect for their space. In the forest, we are always the visitors.

Elephants often detect camera traps through smell or the faint click of the infrared trigger. Their curiosity sometimes leads them to investigate —and occasionally dismantle the setup!
