Hello X. It’s been a bit, but I come with news.
Fired up to announce I’ll be covering Ohio State sports for @11W! Excited to head to Columbus full time at the start of August and begin.
Grateful to @Dan_Hope, @chaseabrown__ and the rest of the team for the opportunity.
Ryan Day: "We're in a race to get better, and we got to get better fast. I think everybody understands that ... We got to take a step in the right direction. (We) talk about upgrading all the time. We got to upgrade. We got to because the people we're playing, they're good."
Ryan Day on 97.1 The Fan says Bo Jackson and Ja'Kobi Jackson got "into a rhythm" vs. Iowa.
"Real physical running ... guys are getting vertical, finishing through contact, which is what we're looking for."
The tandem combined for 30 carries, 142 yards and a touchdown.
Qua Russaw missed Week 1 vs. Ball State with an injury.
“I was out for a couple days. (When) I really got back, I was not in good shape.”
Against Iowa, he felt fully back, boosting the defensive line’s production with his best game at Ohio State.

Jeremiah Smith hitting the Heisman pose for the first slide of his Instagram post.
"I just got to keep the Heisman voters or whoever it is (aware) that I'm the best player in the country,” Smith said postgame.
I think he’s trying to say something.
Ohio State’s defense is not the same as it was last year. It’s also not the same as 2024.
And that’s not necessarily a bad thing, but against Iowa, the unit showed it took a step forward.
On a group who believes there’s “no limit” to what it can do.

Ohio State didn’t play a complete game vs. Texas. That’s why it lost.
Against Iowa, it was a resounding flip of the switch, beating the ranked Hawkeyes by playing for four quarters.
“We wanted to play 60 minutes. I felt like we accomplished that goal.”

Ryan Day on Jeremiah Smith:
“All he cares about is winning. He’s a man of few words, but I can tell you he feels strongly about this fan base. That’s what we try to preach to these players, that’s it’s bigger than you going on and playing. This is not a pas-through to the NFL.”
Jeremiah Smith postgame when asked what his message is to Heisman Trophy voters:
“I’m the best player in the country.”
Here’s Jeremiah Smith, who now owns the Ohio State record for the most receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
Appreciate watching him at the college level while you can.
Braeden Jackson cashes in for Iowa’s first touchdown of the game on a 2-yard run.
Hawkeyes trail 31-14 after a successful 2-point conversion.
Ja’Kobi Jackson waltzes into the end zone for a 7-yard touchdown run.
Ohio State up 31-6 with 12:47 to go.
Jeremiah Smith nets the 206th catch of his career, breaking Emeka Egbuka’s Ohio State record for most receptions.
At some point I’ll run out of words to describe No. 4.
Fresh off recording 4 pass breakups against Illinois last week, Jaylen McClain records an interception.
No. 8 has been balling lately.
Jeremiah Smith hauls in a 57-yard touchdown pass, the 36th of his career.
That breaks Chris Olave’s touchdown record most Ohio State receiving scores and ties Emeka Egbukba’s program record for most receptions with 205.
How about that?
Ohio State goes for it on 4th-and-1 from the Iowa 42-yard line, opting for the direct snap to Bo Jackson, getting blown up in addition to a pair of holding penalties that both got declined.
Don’t like that call at all.
Iowa starts the second half by kicking the ball out of bounds. Rare miscue from the Hawkeyes on special teams.
Ohio State up 17-6 with the ball on its own 35-yard line.
Jeremiah Smith is up to 6 catches for 111 yards and a score on that 12-yard touchdown, tying Chris Olave’s program receiving touchdowns record with 35.
It also puts him at 202 career receptions, passing K.J. Hill for the second most receptions in Ohio State history.
