A momentous week for London.
I’m so excited to see our plans to transform Oxford Street becoming a reality.
And this is just the beginning 💚
Oxford Street. Reimagined.

Almost 1km of our nation’s high street is now officially traffic-free.
And this is just the beginning.
We’re transforming Oxford Street into a greener, safer, world-class destination that Londoners can be proud of.

One million Londoners reached. Thousands fewer victims of violence.
Our @LDN_VRU is helping turn the tide, with hospital admissions for young people injured in knife assaults down 55% since 2019.
This shows what prevention can achieve, but there’s more to do.

ALT Infographic from the Mayor of London showing that the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) has reached one million Londoners and is helping make London safer. A bar chart compares reductions in hospital admissions of young people for knife assault: London shows a 56% decrease, compared with a 48% decrease in the rest of England. Source: NHS hospital admissions data, comparing the 12 months to July 2026 with 2018/19. The message highlights that knife-assault admissions among young people have fallen faster in London than in the rest of the country.

Not only has the Elizabeth Line transformed how millions of Londoners and visitors get across our city - but it shows us how beautiful and passenger-friendly new infrastructure projects can be 💜
The Elizabeth line is the public’s all-time favourite @RIBA Stirling Prize winning project! 🏆💜
Two years after winning the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize in 2024, it’s another proud moment for London’s transport network 👏

In just a week, Oxford Street begins its transformation into a world-class, traffic-free destination for shopping, culture and leisure.
A greener, more vibrant high street that supports businesses, creates jobs and brings new opportunities 💚

Clean air shouldn’t be a privilege.
In London, we’ve seen how bold action on air quality can make a huge difference.
⬇️ Harmful roadside pollution down by 27%
⬇️ 40% fall in estimated deaths linked to toxic air
That’s real progress. But everyone, no matter their background or where they live, deserves cleaner air.

No more waiting for the green signal.
In one week, the Oxford Street pedestrianisation begins.
More space. Less traffic.
Our nation's high street deserves no less.

Reliable mobile signal is essential to everyday life in London, yet too many Londoners experience frustrating gaps in service.
We’re stepping in to boost signals across the city, helping boroughs make improvements.

For many West Londoners, the quickest route between two places often isn't the most direct.
The West London Orbital would change that with a new Overground line between Hounslow and Hendon.
Take part in the consultation now to have your say on the future of the line:

No other city in the world has 4 universities in the top 50.
Congrats to Imperial, UCL, King’s College and LSE.
Another feather in London’s (graduation) cap as the greatest city in the world.

The Wild West approach to dockless e-bikes cannot continue.
I'm setting out my plan to improve safety and data sharing, tackle poor parking and create consistent standards across London.
TfL licensing is the key to making these schemes safer and better managed.

London's homicide rate hit its lowest level since records began.
Yet 40% of the public thought that murders had risen since 2019.
That’s the danger of disinformation. We cannot accept it, and to defeat it, we’ve got to put pressure on the social media companies who profit from it.

NEW: Very pleased that TfL have reached a ground-breaking agreement with @unitetheunion to provide air conditioning in every bus cab in London.
This is personal to me. I know that London’s hard-working bus drivers play a vital role.
Thank you for keeping London moving during this unprecedented summer.

On behalf of all Londoners, I want to extend my thanks to the London Ambulance Service for their heroic work around the clock during a summer unlike any other.
The demand has been relentless, and paramedics and crews have been there for Londoners when they needed them most.

A park. A street. A journey home.
No woman should have to change her route because she feels unsafe.
I’m investing £15.6m to put women and girls at the heart of redesigning public spaces across the capital.
London won't look away.

Good news: by the end of 2026, Londoners will be able to enjoy 4G and 5G coverage across the whole London Underground network.
