This fanbase should put a bag over its head. We went a different direction this year and things didn’t work out. It happens, but this fanbase is so spoiled by money at this point they can’t just accept that this season just didn’t work out for various reasons. Cohen has money and that’s the problem. The trash fans this weekend at Citi Field this weekend cheering for the Mets to lose should be ashamed of themselves. Cohen has spent a billion dollars plus on payroll to win and people act like it’s peanuts. Just think, people cheered for a player that was part of that biggest collapse in baseball history and wasn’t clutch at all. Pete is in a place where he will never win a championship or have any pressure to win. Ever wonder why no contender went after Pete? It’s because of the on field play and soft mentality is why! He took his money and now is completely irrelevant and will retire an Oriole. Easy to play in a small market with no pressure to win.
Well, another pitcher we might have had interest in during the offseason is now off the market. Skubal will resign with the Dodgers now that there is talk of Ohtani no longer pitching. You can’t tell me other teams in the MLB aren’t all in on winning a championship this year and couldn’t have put together a much better package. Something seems off about this and MLB needs to look into how they’re doing business as a league. It seems like MLB is catering to one specific market.
The mental part of the game is definitely an issue for this team. They’re playing not to make mistakes and not to lose. They’re a team that can’t get out of their own way. And yes, Devin Williams shouldn’t be the closer anymore. Someone needs to get a set of balls and bench him.
😂 some of you need to get a life. Blocking people because of a different opinion over baseball is the weakest thing ever. You need to get off the internet permanently if you can’t handle others’ opinions. It isn’t the end of the world. Baseball is just entertainment. Life goes on.
I love how the media is sticking up for Mendoza which is garbage. He clearly couldn’t get this team to do the basic fundamentals. This team is at an all time low due to his and his coaching staff’s inability to get the most out of his players. If you want Stearns gone fine, but Mendoza was culpable in this entire thing since he took over. A complete collapse, terrible on the field performances, and managerial decisions ultimately is what led to him being let go. The rest of the staff should have been let go too, but there’s no way to replace everyone mid season. The pitching coach should have been let go immediately. He’s 💯 culpable for how terrible this staff has been even with the guys we have.
