Today Pte. Aidan Goulding was returned to British Columbia after giving his life in service to our country at CFB Wainwright. To the police, firefighters and paramedics who lined the road from YVR, thank you. To Aidan’s family, you have the condolences of every British Columbian, and his service will not be forgotten.

Our new commemorative street banners for Remembrance Day are up along Shaughnessy Street. These banners, along with our Lest We Forget sidewalk mural on McAllister Avenue, honour the service and sacrifice of our veterans. Port Coquitlam has a proud history of honouring our veterans, and our new Remembrance Day banners along Shaughnessy Street are one more way we show our gratitude. Join us and Royal Canadian Legion Branch #133 Port Coquitlam to honour veterans at our Remembrance Day Service on Wednesday, November 11, with the parade at 10:10am (proceeding along Shaughnessy Street from Wilson Avenue to McAllister Avenue) and service to follow (in Veterans Park). Poppies are available at City facilities, with donations supporting Legion Branch #133. Learn more at portcoquitlam.ca/remember.

What does Woodfibre LNG mean for Canada? The Squamish, B.C. based project is about 75% built and should be completed in mid-to-late 2027. A new economic impact study shows what it delivers, together with the Eagle Mountain pipeline: ✅ $7 billion added to Canada's GDP ✅ 52,400 job-years of work during construction ✅ $3.6 billion in wages for workers ✅ $13.6 billion in economic output across Canada ✅ $11.6 billion in government revenue over 40 years, with $7.3 billion of it in B.C. ✅ More money for our public services ✅ Good local jobs and supply-chain work in the Squamish region ✅ New customers beyond the U.S., with 100% of capacity sold under long-term contracts ✅ A Pacific Coast location close to fast-growing Asian demand, as global LNG demand is projected to rise about 65% by 2050 Canada has the resources and the world is asking for them. When we build, Canadians benefit. #WoodfibreLNG #CanadianLNG #LNG #BritishColumbia #Squamish

Hey @PremierScottMoe let’s make a little wager on the CFL playoff game tomorrow. After the @BCLions win, I will give you a Lions jersey at our first official meeting. In the very small chance the Riders win, I’ll reluctantly accept a @sskroughriders jersey from you.

“hydraulic stimulation and shale gas development can be done with a high degree of safety — much, much higher than other industrial operations such as fishing, mining, agriculture, et cetera.” As N.B. reconsiders fracking, here’s how science and tech have evolved since the moratorium cbc.ca/news/canada/new-bruns…
