Roy Keane reveals he never believed Michael Carrick would succeed as Manchester United manager. "Yeah, because what happens, like in anything else in sport and in life, when you've done well for, what, 15, 16 games and he gets it. The key for any of us, in terms of, I don't care if it's when you're with your children or marriage, it's being consistent. It's doing it for years and years and years. That's what makes the top managers and players. You keep doing it. So as soon as he got the job, you're like, I know we've had a bit of fun here, and listen, just knew it wasn't going to work. You just knew it because your backup, you go, what's he got? We're talking about other managers. You go Eddie Howe, whatever, good or bad, whatever you might think, you go there's a bit of a CV behind him. He's won a trophy, Champions League, he's managed in the Premier League six, seven hundred games. There's experience there. With Carrick, you go, he's been in the Championship. Well, he knows the place, he loves the club. People going about his personality, this is nothing to do with his personality. If I hear one more person tell me he's a great guy, he loves the club, what's that got to do with it? What's that got to do with it?"
