Not enough people are aware that Cambridge Analytica and Peter Thiel’s Palantir worked side by side, mining Facebook data in 2016 re the Leave /Brexit campaign
The same Palantir is now in charge of our government's AI system! Also - A new report on NHS costs for the Palantir platform shows lifetime charge rises to £1.1bn on ‘increased delivery at scale’ while forecast benefits fall to £808mn.
Pressure needs to be put on the govt to trigger a 2027 break clause in Palantir’s contract due to concerns about its effectiveness, use of NHS data & their ties to the Trump administration

The choice on immigration in Spain's election:
Keep the EU's last experiment in open borders (with PM Pedro Sánchez).
Or give the far-right (Vox) a chance to implement anti-immigration policies never tried at national level in postwar western Europe.

The Commonwealth is vital to promoting Britain's values and interests in an increasingly unstable world.
Having the bravery to have honest conversations about our history is the right thing to do and vital for making it an alliance for the future.

Back to Floor with Parkland & Grounds Team today, installing fencing. Lots of digging, lugging wood, tamping down & wielding sledgehammers (liked that bit). Sadly not qualified to drive tractor, but got to sit in it! Team doing great job installing high quality fencing.

I’ve reached an age when some people offer me their seat on the tube - and I no longer feel any offence to my dignity. I just say yes gratefully. Except I’ve noticed they have one thing in common - they are almost always people of colour. True Brits.

A fantastic evening celebrating Black excellence at the Powerlist Awards. So proud to see others recognised, especially Ian Thomas CBE, named the UK’s most influential Black Briton.
Breaking glass ceilings and extending a ladder to the next generation.

Utterly delighted and excited to be here @StPaulsLondon for the 1st night of a four year partnership with @fabriclondon and tonight it’s The Cinematic Orchestra playing to a sold-out event. The tickets sold within 8 minutes. So proud to have been a member of the Cathedral Council here and to see the increasing ambition to open this building to new audiences, new visitors, new people and to share, generously, this special space.

Hugely looking forward to tomorrow’s @vac_conference; I’ll be giving @alva_uk ‘state of the nation’ presentation in the morning, referencing the ineffectual VAT cut this Summer, the weather, the overnight visitor levy, the cost of living, changing visitor preferences & optimism!

Black history is not only about reflecting on the past, but also recognising the impact being made today and looking to the future with pride, ambition and hope.

Our future with Europe deserves ambition.
EU Ambassador Jukka Salovaara’s words are a welcome reminder of the importance of the UK–EU relationship.
Let’s build on that partnership with easier trade, more opportunities for young people and a stronger voice in our shared European future.

Just leaving the terrific 101 year old ‘Hay Fever’, by Nöel Coward, at the Wyndham’s Theatre. A terrific vehicle to tell the stories of social insecurities, rampant ambitions, appalling manners, ‘them and us’, as well as for scene-stealing actors such as Christine Baranski and Richard E Grant. Terribly, terribly charming.
