Watching the canucks/oilers game. My kid: “there’s a Nurse (#25) on the ice. Where’s the doctor?” Me: “must be in the PWHL”@thepwhlofficial A bit of googling and I found Dr.@wick_22. Y’all. What a badass! AND she’s finishing up her EM training! dfcm.utoronto.ca/news/grit-a…

A lot of people don’t know that the first EMS service in the country was started by Black Pittsburghers, when local police and fire refused to serve them. On the last day of Black History Month, I spoke on the House Floor to honor their contributions to medicine.

We are well past the time when EtCO2 should be added to the National EMS Scope of Practice for BLS providers. While we’re at it…let’s also add supraglottic airways, IM benzodiazepines for seizures, & a host of other lifesaving interventions. #NAEMSP2024 @hashimzMD
On stage now here in Austin is @hashimzMD, exploring the value of waveform capnography being a BLS skill and identifying patient care scenarios in which its application improves the lifesaving interventions already done by BLS providers. #NAEMSP2024

@HaamidtheMD and @Pretty_Ricqui giving us the tools to interrupt bias and and be true upstanders at #NAEMSP. Let's get comfortable about the uncomfortable! I always learn so much from these amazing leaders!

Fantastic keynote address by Chief John Moon talking about the legacy that was left by Freedom House Ambulance to establish this #EMS subspecialty. We’ll never know the true impact of their hard work, dedication, & sacrifice. #NAEMSP2024

Very cool to hear from Chief Moon from Freedom House Ambulance Service. If you liked the tv show Emergency! it was actually based off Freedom House. #NAEMSP

Despite the black cat that ran across the road in front of me, my first shift here was fun and exciting. One down, many to go!

There are two highly anticipated movies being released this week. One of them is about a controversial public figure and how they reflect the enduring cognitive dissonance between our stated values as a society and the reality of our myriad systemic hypocrisies. (thread)

Countless men have directly benefited from abortion. Few say so. My partner chose to get an abortion when I was a young man. I supported her in making that decision and I benefited from that choice. Other men who are willing to share how they benefited from abortion, please do.
