Emissions are rising when they need to be falling. We need global action - at #COP29, with new NDCs, and we need national climate laws to close the implementation gap ⬇️
UNEP's new #EmissionsGap report sends an urgent message to cut GHG emissions & deliver on the Paris Agreement temperature goals in the next round of countries' Nationally Determined Contributions to #ClimateAction.

Huge congratulations to the brilliant Victoria Siddall, next Director of the @NPGLondon. She is a great friend and champion of the environment (and @ClientEarth). Looking forward to seeing all that she achieves in this next chapter. 🙌 🌏
We're building on April's landmark climate judgement in the #KlimaSeniorinnen case from the European Court of Human Rights.

We first supported Małgorzata in 2021, when she and four other claimants took action against the Polish government for its inadequate response to climate change.
Plastic pollution is both a global crisis and a deeply local problem - with local government often carrying the burden of cleaning up the waste, and dealing with the impact on our environment and communities.
This report from the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) shows how local government can use nuisance, products liability and consumer protection laws to litigate against the companies responsible for burdening them with these costs.

As I head off on my summer break, sharing our @ClientEarth summer report, with highlights from the first half of 2024.

None of this work would be possible without our fantastic partners and collaborators; our courageous, committed and creative @ClientEarth colleagues and - of course - our friends, donors and supporters.
The organising committee of @Paris2024 vowed to make these games the “greenest” in history.
But their sponsorship tells a different story. Coca-Cola is still churning out millions of tonnes of plastic - which causes waste, greenhouse gas emissions, and damage to human health.
We took action against Coca-Cola last year, with our partners @ECOS_EU and @BEUC, over the recycling claims they put on their plastic water bottles. Claims like 100% recycled suggest plastic bottles can be recycled indefinitely – that’s simply not true.
Take action against Coke now. #TasteTheWaste
